Yes, I'm aware of that - it's basically gambling, you can look up other games that have gacha/lootboxes. They're immoral and dangerous - people fall for these disgusting practices every day in gaming and when you contact support to get back the money - whoops, no refunds for you!

I wish they'd stop these practices but it's what makes the money, they don't care if it's consumer friendly or not.

EDIT : When it comes to farming EMP by casually playing (relating to LeviaHusband comment) it won't happen, ever. That's the main way they make money - the only way to get free EMP is either when the new character is released or you can pray your art will be so good you'll win the contest, other than that don't expect any free EMP

Mobile games are way better with gachas than Closers, not Fate Grand Order though. It have one of the worst (if not the worst) gacha system ever.
And don't forget that "It's not lootboxes, it's SURPRISE MECHANIC!!!" xD))))))

I wish that someday developers at least change this to be more player-friendly, because get rid of it is very good (but it only works for games that you buy to play); F2P games will die without that system, but what is the point to make paywall?
Also, why not sell costume pieces\costumes themselves in the EMP store? 50$(like LeviaHusband says) is gonna get you more money. No one gonna pay around 100$ for 13boxes with chance to get the costumes. Not to mention that all these washing machines still contain trash items

Loot boxes and gacha system are the most crap thing that the companies created ever.

Imagine you going to a shoe shop, you pay $20 to roll a rollet for a chance to get the shoe.....and you get the shoelace only....

This crap system is running in pratically every game nowadays.

In Closers, the gacha system is WORST than a lot of mobile gacha games.

I play Love Live! School Idol Festival, BanG Dream GBP, Revue Statlight Re;Life, Honkai Impact 3rd and GrandChase. All those games are F2P and all those games you can farm the currency to roll the gacha for free, while in Closers you can't. There's now the new Bitna thing but is so expensive that no worth.

Love Live! S.I.F. and BanG Dream G.B.P. you can EASYLY gather the currency to roll the gacha for free. And otherwise Closers, there's not trash itens on the pool, only the cards you use in the game. And those cards are the P2W thing of the game cause you high your status with it.

So yeah, Closers Gacha can be even worst than Mobile Gacha games.

Pay for a chance to get the item you want is ridiculous. Those Mobile games I pointed there's still an "excuse" to use the gacha since you can roll for free but Closers no.

There's other ways that Developpers can do to gain money.

Put the costumes on Cash shop , all of them - Per piece or complete set, it doesn't matter, just don't use this crap gacha system.

For Rare Costumes you can sell like the Founder's Pack in the beta or sell normally on Cash Shop for $40 or even $50.

Low the price of the 2nd costume and accessores slots - 300 EMP for unlock 1 slot? Really? Put 50 or 100. If more people unlock the slots more people will be able to use the Cash shop costumes while keep the Rare ones for the stats and animstions. Using the same costume everydays is boring. If you give a resonable chance to buy more costumes, people will buy. #Fashion is the true endgame

I hope one day those crap loot boxes and gacha things be vanished from all games.
