You need 90 days to active the status but you can have 1 day left after that and you still platinum.
And after the last day of Platinum has expired, you still have a week time to recharge Elite until you lose the Platinum status (you won't have Elite/ Platinum benefits during this time, but you won't have to buy 90 days to get Platinum back unless you let that week pass).

Does the platinum status stay forever, or does it just convert your next elite upgrades to platinum too?You get platinum after you get total of 90 elite in a row. Better get a 3 of 30 days tokens as @Muryoku said. it worth it. Platinum ends after time expire. But it won't ends if you keep increasing your status.
You get 90 or more days of elite - you get platinum. days expire - you lose your status. you buy it again - you get platinum only if it's 90 or more days total.
This is information is totally WRONG. As soon as you get your platinum status, your platinum status will keep as long as you still have the "eilte/platinum".
For example:
3 x 30 days = 90 days . Now you are platinum . you don't have to recharge anything for 89 days. On the day 90, you can recharge like 30 days of elite, you still be platinum all the way.
As soon as you achieve your platinum status , you keep it no matter how many elite/platinum days you have left. ( 1 day or 100000 days it's the same). You NEVER need to have more than 90 days of elite to keep your platinum status . You need 90 days to active the status but you can have 1 day left after that and you still platinum.

Re: Towards the grinding of endgame Purification Gears
If you're going to be getting elite, as the above poster said, make a note to go for 90 days worth and obtain the Platinum status instead.
You get a daily washing machine (daily gacha) along with other added benefits and it will not expire until your 90 days or however many's left is up.
Re: Towards the grinding of endgame Purification Gears
Yeah it takes a while, crafting the puri hell trinkets + mod you will need 740 Multidimensional Reactive Substance. Currently, each day you can get 3 from Replica, 4 from Hell and 4 from Overflow/Reverse, meaning you can get at least 73 each week. 740/73 ~ 10, meaning in the worst case scenario its takes a 2 months and a half. However, sometimes it is a reward from daily missions and sometimes it drops from puri 6 bosses, but it is still a lengthy process nonetheless.
About the elite membership i would suggest saving for the platinum version (3 elite tokens). The extra reward at the end of the dungeon makes it worth it. That and maybe unlocking cosmetics slots/inventory space are the only things worth investing your money.
For the people who thought Bai could make the game GIANT HAHAH
Just for the record, I never intend to post something like this, is a bunch of hyped kids arent talking nonsense in foruns in the past months.
Enmasse delayed the Bai release and the "super smart" people flooded the foruns talking about the end of the game and how the release of Bai will save the world and be the game top 1 forever.
Sorry to bring to that 10yo people the truth (and i pretty sure they no longer play the game, but i'll post anyways).
Bai is one of the WORST characteres releases in the game history. WOLFGANG had a better number at the day he was release. And he is on of the less played chars in the game.
And this has nothing to do with the delay. Has to do with GAME CONTENT. A single characteres realese dont do NOTHING to the game. Soma, Wolf, viollet, Tina had a release with good content going on. Bai is not all that people was saying for the childish hype and the numbers dont lie.
We are sitting on 600 players, Soma had 800+ for a very longer time. And the others too. Bai is just a failure. The 25% increase is just because the game was nearly dead on steam last month.
Just learn to understand the game and how it works, before posting 3 months of nonsense in the foruns.
And i'll quit the game untill real content comes. So im only in discord for now. Enjoy your month with a poor and ugly char release and his SA and nothing new to the game. Was all your fault, hyped-1-week player.
Enmasse is doing a great jog, btw. They just used that "smart" people hype. Totaly agreed.
Sorry for the english, i really didnt review my post.
The numbers:

Re: Towards the grinding of endgame Purification Gears
- Two to three months, assuming you never skip a day and have no materials to start with. The least amount of time could be a bit more than a month.
- Kinda, farming bosses everyday until you get enough materials. Brace yourself for the transcendence RNG/ Nitocris drops.
- If that is your main character i would use them on transcendence 5, because it is really expensive to keep the enhancing lvl while transcending.
Note that without elite/plat most things take longer(less entries everyday).
Re: Towards the grinding of endgame Purification Gears
Currently, no. Buying elite status from the BM is not worth it and not sustainable. It costs at least 300m for 15 days which means 600m a month. It takes at least 6-7 characters doing every entry of Tiamat for you to break even on this purchase. On the other hand, if you are talking about buying elite status with real cash as your only purchase, then yes.
