It's great that people of mid to high CR are getting some sort of content. Each patch should include something for these gifted players. But meanwhile, new players and people of low CR still have that gap between Xanadu and SH, and the only way to gear up at a decent pace for them is to party with said high CR players, who now with new content to farm, may forget about everyone but their friends. I feel this is a big concern to solo players like me and people who did not catch on the previous OBT Kred wave and were left behind with low CR and few people to help them gear up. I mean, go look at SH Easy and Normal. Those guys are still damage sponges for people of low CR.

Now without high CR people to help them or carry them, how are more players going to reach the new content? Or will the rest of the game get catered only to already high CR players and those very few super talented players who can tackle the existing gaps? Does the journey of the casual player end at Skyship? Will everything after August, story included, require 50K+ CR? If so, will there be helper gear to boost newbies up to such CR at least at some point? Will there be a more definite gear up progress route?

    Unless.

    @Nopi said:
EDIT: So as I keep reading. This random dungeon is supposed to be the gap closer from the 10K CR that people end skyship with and SH and the 50K 200K stuff?

Then look to Blade & Soul for an example of what things will look like in time, as it is just like during that boosted SH period where many in the community only want to play with similarly equipped players, even when doing old content. Over time the new, and less equipped players feel more, and more useless, and that game in a period of about 18 months has had two server mergers due to how many people have left. Meanwhile it will have defenders that insist that people are being babies, as they could start a new char, and get to X AR (B&S equivalent to CR) in just a month, or so.

It feels like all this effort to make the NA/EU version different/harder just made the game worse for the typical person. I used to regard Kritika as a rather casual game of this genre, that I'd play to just bash things senseless, but with no comments on reverting those nonsense changes, I think I'll just stick with C9 all together, rather than treat this as a side game, Kritika frustrates me too much.

@Smoreceror How will it work with Steam? Will it just be startable over steam but the Servers will stay and the characters will stay too?

Steam is just a store front, except for Valve's own games, those using servers for character data, and such need to handle that themselves. Putting any online game on Steam is just about adding the launcher there, some will integrate it more so Steam updates the game, and you launch directly from Steam, to the game, others, especially for the foreign developed ones just put their launcher there, with all updating handled through that as usual, and may, or may not add other things like Steam achievements, or trading cards, with varying degrees of success. Generally speaking it's best to not use Steam for online games, trying to play through Steam can just create additional problems you would not have had otherwise.

  • I just wanna say I appreciate a lot the transparency and the trust you're building with your community. This goes a long way and hopefully both we and you can pick the fruits of it later on.

That makes sense. Thanks for the nice answer ^^

Yep. I am annoyed by that AH bug too. And the dev that made the stream had no ideea about that bug. He just found out and requested some screenshots with it... It has a 100% reproduction rate. Why screenshots when you can just make it happen -_- ?

  • Can we have a hint at least of which month you guys plan on adding the imprint system? Don't see it in any category in the future road map.....

Xigncode's well... a debatable choice - in a market without many alternatives, takes a little more system resources than gameguard, as it's much more restrictive (hence the bad reviews), and at the same time more flexible for the company.
It also has a lot of similarities with rootkits in how it operates, particularly pertaining to it's process and file monitoring.

if you're looking for recent information about it - I highly recommend checking out Blade and soul's forums/reddit for it, most of the pertinent information was circulating there, only a few months back.
here's a couple of more informative threads for those who are curious.

    https://forums.bladeandsoul.com/topic/229208-xigncode3/
    https://www.reddit.com/r/bladeandsoul/comments/6d5ent/how_to_keep_your_porn_safe_from_xigncode_spies/

I'm a bit apprehensive about this move both due to how easily xigncode is circumvented. (am I allowed to express that concern here), and it's effect on performance and stability for a significant portion of users.

I have a BnS account and I really know the complaints there. Many players posted about much lower performance after they switched from, you guessed, GameGuard. And they felt GG was bad enough as it was. Then there's all those rootkit-like red flags. But my concern isn't Xigncode's spying itself, but the many claims about it's outside hack-ability. As in, some hacker could patch through your Xigncode and hack your PC. NOW, let's not jump ahead and see this as fact or truth. These are all rumors I keep hearing, and you know how the internet provides both great hearsay AND somehow provides "proof" to fake-ly validate that hearsay. Still, systems like this worry me. What if some of that hearsay is actually based on fact?

Would be good for me to add Steam in the proper way, mind you. Maybe that way I can actually play with my Steam controller without having to do some voodoo to make it work. Of course, we all know Steam is not for everyone and not every PC out there likes to run your online game AND Steam on top of it.

  • Well its really nice move of you guys to show us the future updates at least some of it cuz honestly I stopped playing the game from boring routine but now knowing that ecliar is coming in October is amazing and I think I will start farming again for her yet I want you please to add something can you please allow players to open more character slots using kred atleast instead of using emp or using any of the 2 said currency's it would've amazing since my char slots are full and I don't want to delete a char everytime to make a new one please make this happen and it will amazing for all players

oh that's just an exaggeration of it's functions as a rootkit.
hypothetically, a hacker, provided he already had the ability to place and install things on your PC.
could quite easily use xigncode's driver and functions to gain significant system information and control.
the thing is, no hacker worth his salt would bother, he'd already have to have the ability to place a rootkit/rat of his own on your system, one that doesn't require a bunch of additional work and alteration to use effectively, and isn't limited to people who play certain less than mainstream games.
    it's just impractical.

so no, it puts you at no greater risk than anything else you'd download and execute from the internet - and any claims of it being a grand security risk are just fear-mongering.

EDIT: I should make it clear that I won't be discussing this further as I don't feel the topic of exploiting an anti-cheat engine is in line with this forum's intentions, and it's quite difficult for me to talk about without verging on how to go about doing so.

That's more or less what I supposed myself, so my own focus was on the claims of poor performance. Though that may end up being a per-case subject, considering Xigncode is a program like every other and different computers are or are not compatible partially or fully with it.

As for the discussion on this thread, I'm definitely not asking nor interested in details about the hacking subject, your current answer is enough.

I am not a fan of gameguard or xingcode whatever, but can I ask a serious question? Who cares if they know what's on my computer? Like honestly. It seems to have very low CPU/RAM usage and does virtually nothing to performance. Do you think they are going to call you parents? I just wonder what horrible things people must have on their computer when they are so worried about a program that MAY or MAY NOT have access to the info in the first place.

your operating system and browser store FAR more info then both these programs combined, yet I don't see a ton of Linux users here.

There isn't much news on the arena changes yet. We don't know.

I've shattered mine before this month's update. Does that count as a clear?

Nonono, It has to be when shatter table is released. But for now since you were unaware I will let this crumble.

  • Only thing i am worried about currently is.
    - 2 entries a week...ok fine (why not per day ? or 1 per day?) but if i understood it right you cant evolve any gear unless you really kill the final boss.
What means alts are pretty much useless unless you gear them for that content and people that dont have the CR to beat it are going to be like "for what am i doing it then?"
and if only the leader needs a key i see people trying to offer carry runs to people just to leech the keys away. (no i dont look at you you people with 200K+ CR that gonna need to try to get the best gear asap but this time cant buy it)

Hmm cant find it anymore but somewhere i read that the stones you need are only drobbed at the last boss and that the others are just some additional mats for evolving

As it seems on the stream they made about shattertable, the box you get on last boss you get to choose which stone you want ( for weap, chest, etc) and on the rest you don't
