  • Yeah I saw that two of the main people, well, both have reapers and one has nin/reap, so I guess that's out of the question. I don't want to pidgeon hole the guy with the most classes into just healer.. right now, we only have 1 potential healer and 1 potential tank, which is kinda sketch.
  • I agree, but like assuming our 1 tank or 1 healer is rekt right now we don't have another one. Well, though, there's only six of us max, so I guess we need most of us anyway LOL.
  • As long as you have a tank and a healer, I don't think the dps classes really matter too much.
  • I see. So what would you guys advise as my possible options? We have no gunner either, but idk if the whole class idea is really mine. And I don't mind being the underdog (Berserker), but LOL no thanks Slayer, no offense guys. How's Sorc doing? I heard they're complex, but If I said this before i'll say it again, try playing a Summoner competitively on PS4 for real. Like, it was painful.

It might be a good idea for a couple of you to make a healer/tank and gear it just in case your main tank/healer are away and you want to run stuff without having to resort to LFG(should be obvious, but looking for group)/IMS(instance)
It's also nice to play those classes just to know what to expect from them.

As Natkenel said. DPS classes don't matter. You can have whatever dps there is. Might have an issue of someone being miffed that you're out dpsing them on the same class. But aside from that it doesn't matter.

  • If Sorc has some linked up skils (like frost, etc) then sure if it's just a random spamming bunch of nonsense then probably not that either. Sorry, at work, can barely type and can't shuffle through forums so I'm left w/ this ._.
  • Oh okay so there's not like min/maxing or issue with loot then? Hmmm gotcha.

There can be an issue with gear if you're running multiple of the same class and want to go with the end game gear (talking about vision maker, the ones that can go to +15) as you need design drops, which can be quite rare depending on your luck. But for midtier gear like Guile there's not really an issue with all gearing at the same time. You just gotta keep running the dungeons till everyone has their gear.
  • Now I feel like I'm left with too many choices kinda LOL
  • I mean maybe i'll get used to evasive smash and it making me rage, I don't mind the charge concept, but breaking charge and the hold-release on two different keys feels wicked clunky. I mean, even with low ping and decent fps, it feels kind of awkward, I cant even imagine how it feels for other people.

If I entertain another class, I want it to seem kind of seamless (maybe like lunar dancer? lel). Decisions, decisions. I like classes that play smoothly, I don't really care about speed, but I like a flow.

Warrior and Slayer might be your best option then if you want a seamless class
Warrior I don't have much experience with (currently leveling one) but they chain a lot of skills, and if you don't chain they cast slower
Slayer is the same, and while it may be the "lowest" dps, it can still do pretty decent damage if you learn the class. Same concept as warrior, you gotta constantly chain your skills together for the fast output.

For your Zerk issue. Try changing keybinds around to help it seem better. You don't want to use evasive smash as a dps skill, but if you know a mechanic is coming up and have to dodge, it can be very useful to use it then instead of the normal roll.
  • Hmm. Any experience with sorc/gunner/archer? The thing is, well, I've had some pretty bad experiences with groups who have too much melee lol. I've gotta figure out if the other guy actually wants to main Mystic, but he's got a ton of classes and is the most geared on all of them so.
  • Sorc and Gunner are both classes I honestly don't like myself. But Sorc can definitely output a lot of dps. If you want an idea on sorc look up Yoshas sorceror guide when you can. Should give you a good idea on it.
Gunner I got nothing to say on. I actually hate the class.
Archer is my beloved. I don't know how to explain them really. They have charge skills like zerk. Can dish out a lot of dps like sorc/ninja. Aside from the two charge skills, they have a skill called Thunderbolt that can crit up to 8m depending on your gear. Rain of arrows, self explanatory. Rapid fire which fires 7 shots in rapid succession (better the lower your ping, you said you're 50ms. So you should be fine). They have two iframes and dash to help reposition, a skill that can cancel the recoil animation from Thunderbolt and their two charge skills, similar to block canceling on Zerk.

Apologies for editing my comments a bit. I tend to forget to add stuff and since it's a tiny thing I just edit the post
  • Nono it's fine, I was speaking about a client so I was distracted for a moment (lul work distractin muh gamez). Sounds good, thx for the feedback! I didn't really like gunner all too much myself... something about guns on video games, just thought I'd get another opinion. I'll take a look at the sorc guide. How are they doing lately?
  • Sorcs? They're among the top dps if played right. Alongside Archer and Ninja I believe.
