Look at mana regeneration. On my priest, if I want to restore mana I have to glyph restorative burst and actively drop it off cooldown in a way that lets it land on as many party members as possible. Then I have to use that chargeup mana regen skill off cooldown while positioning myself in a way that lets it affect everyone. On a mystic I can just stand there while my auras do the work, or I can chuck a mana mote and hope my party members pick it up. Corruption ring is the only fun looking mana regen method they have. I'm surprised they kept it as is, since it forces them to stay near the boss for a few seconds and presents some genuine risk.
Or look at combat buffs. Titanic wrath is an aura now, so all you have to do is stand there. At least energy stars has you actively casting something. Bosses can stagger you out of it or even iframe it, so casting it at the wrong time can screw your team's DPS. And since it's active, not passive, you have to juggle it with the rest of your routine. I'm not saying it's super duper fun or especially challenging, but having to watch a debuff and keep it up on a regular basis is infinitely more exciting than turning on an aura at the start and doing nothing else.
Since mystics are the preferred support role for an experienced group, it's really common for me to swivel my camera around and see the mystic just standing there doing literally nothing. And you can say "well he's not a good mystic then," but it doesn't change the fact that even while demonstrating so little effort, nobody in the party notices it. Our mp's fine because of auras and motes. Our damage is fine because of auras and the sellout priest buffbot outside, who's happy to give everyone free buffs that further eliminate the need for priests. Like, it legit doesn't matter. When I get a bad priest, I notice it. My mana's gone, and my damage sucks. When I get a mystic, all they have to do is turn on their auras. Anything else is icing on the cake. The skill cap is absurdly low right now.
That being said, the ease of use is exactly what's reviving them as a class. "RIP mystic" is a lie; if anything, this will revive mystics since anyone will be able to play one in a way that keeps their party alive and happy, even if they're total garbage at it.
KNHM has been the hardest content the game has had, and as a mystic it would probably the only dungeon I would say being a priest had significant advantages.
Pretty much everything you listed makes it harder on the party(and harder to clear) but it doesn't do much for the mystic. How is somebody else sitting outside the circle, for example, a challenge for you? At the same time, while you only have 1 TJ, it goes through the boss, unlike the priest mobility skills(that part in particular always made that boss easier on mystic, for me at least). And, oh my, you had to use TW if somebody died? Must've been so hard to fit in between the other 2 skills you had to use.....(I tried to say this with less sarcasm but it just didn't work.)
