What's the average DPS a Zerker can do?

Title says it all folks, recently made a Zerker and would like to know whether or not I should take it to end-game or choose a different class to dish out DPS.

If all you care about is DPS then berserker might not be for you. It requires a lot more practice and gear to do good at it than most other classes, who can outperform you more easily. Also, the average DPS a zerker can do depends on gear and skill, also on the boss fight and party comp. Not to mention ping and FPS... these two can really screw you if they are bad, more than other classes. So it's hard to say, especially since most berserkers running around are pretty bad because the class is not popular to begin with.

Play the class because you enjoy a challenge and want to pride yourself in being good at a class that's not too easy to excel at, not because you want to top the DPS charts.

On top of everything Banim said, even if you do things just right you can still get screwed by bad crit RNG. I guess that's a thing with any class, but holy hell -- it feels really bad when you're a zerk and you don't crit three times in a row or something, despite having crit factor of 231 and up.

For endgame stuff you should be fine though. Nearly everything is blockable in wonderholme, and the new dodge is pretty okay for getting out of lasers or whatever. We also got some sweet buffs. My zerk was in starfall when the patch hit, and now her axe has been buffed, her skills have gotten raw damage buffs, and NGGGGH it feels [filtered] good when I crit now. I don't bother with dps meters anymore since I play worse when I feel monitored, but the impact in damage has been noticeable.

I almost always play as a mage/sorcerer class in MMO but I'm PVE only, I play to do dungeons and not to go against other players. With that being said, I heard sorcerer isn't exactly good for PVE at the moment due it being squishy and having to stand still for most skills. Bummer for me, since I love ranged combat. I was going to go with Archer as my second choice, as I love using bows and what not but I also heard that it was a fairly weak class for PVE. Maybe I'm misinformed? Can you tell me how they both do in PVE - regardless of DPS are they useful in dungeons ect?

sorcerer armor has been improved against boss

while than archer and berserker have been nerfed
  • Zerker is stupid in PvE. Unless it has been nerfed recently, it has a crapload of dps (I guess if you compare it to brawler and ninja though with all their high end dps, it kinda gets crapped on), but by no means does it lack in dps itself. (that said this was a patch or 2 ago and I have no clue about zerker stats now)

A good zerker is still very strong. And while it does time time to get good at, leveling them is among the easiest classes to level as you can literally just spin for a majority of the time and dish out more than enough dps to break most mobs.

I will say that while someone else said it was ping reliant, that is only if you want to compete with other crazy ping players. I know a zerker with 10 ping. TEN. He hardly ever dies. Dude basically lives right next to the servers.

Archer is flat out crap in PvE. They can do well, but if in a party of other competent classes, they will tend to be on the lower end of dps, even if they themselves are competent.

If you play sorcerer, never use auto attacks in Burst of Celerity, and play it as a melee ranged class (10m-15m) as most of the dps is on the close ranged skills and fireblast damage is based on your position to the mob, not the position of the skill. If you want to see how sorcerer playis probably one of the top sorcerers in this game, worldwide. I know he was one of the top five warriors at one point. He has a detailed sorcerer guide that is easy to find. It was updated just a patch or two ago and includes his rotation. He gets in melee range plenty and seldom dies.

No matter what you pick, every class has a place in dungeon runs, except any reapers that use chain skills and spacebar spam, as chainskills are terrible and shouldn't be used by any class. This can easily lead to worse than sub-par dps.
