They could just name it as Glaiver. Would be simple and perfect.
Jtera called them MoonGlaiver, still better than Moondancer and Glaivedancer. xD
I'm afraid not enjoying the class as much as I want to. Warrior and Slayer are not my type of class. :/
Got some costumes but gonna use them only when I reach lvl 65 and run some end game dungeons.

I doubt the translate is really Moonglaiver while is 月光剣士

Oh they put Moonglaiver on their page. xD

It happen on some translate that try to make it sound better or make sense to the situation they want.
This kind of translate only make confuse to people who try to learn a new language.
月光 suppose to be moonlight, but I knew that there more than one translate did it this way.

月光剣士 probably reads "Gekkoukenshi" in Japanese, which literally translates into Moonlight(月光) Swordsman(剣士). But 剣士 part can also mean Warrior.

It's interesting since it's a bit different from KTERA which they called 월광무사 (Wol'Gwang'Mu'Sa), which is written as 月光武士-- this would be read as Gekkoumushi in Japanese. The difference is the first character for the "warrior" part, which in Korean it writes 武士 referring to warriors as part of military, or warrior who have gained their martial art skills through training. But JTERA used 剣士 which usually refers to swordsmen, specifically warriors who are skilled in handling double edged swords.

So calling this class "月光剣士" is also wrong in a sense because what they use is something called 월광도 (Wol'Gwang'Do) which is written as 月光 (which would read as Gekkoudou? in Japanese) 刀. Here, 刀 (Do/Dao/Dou) specifically refer to single edge sword that only has blade on one side;whoever, 剣 (Geom/Jian/Ken) specially mean double edged sword-- the typically sword with blades on both sides.

Good example of 刀 would be like Scimitar, Katana, or even kitchen knife, while 剣 would be your typical double-edged sword you see in RPG's very often- literally the type of sword most people would think of.
  • *jumps on the hype train*

I don't really mind the name. No point on crying over spilled milk, I guess.

    :pleased:
  • "These [filtered] ain't loyal"
All jokes aside I won't be re-rolling to the new class. But, I won't knock anyone who does

This why I said it just try to translate it to sound better...
I know Chinese/Japanese/English this why I doubt on the translate... but well as I said... as long as it sound better/cooler... there people wont care about if it really make sense... they try to translate moon into 月光 to make sense with the class (sure they also think it sound better/cooler than 月亮劍士) but not the meaning of the word.

About 剣士 and 剣道, while they using 竹刀/bamboo blade, 木刀/wood blade, 刀/blade as weapon I really don't know why call it as 剣士
( then I did some research it cause Japan and western both see 刀剣 as 剣 unlike China make difference on 刀剣)

武士 I would say is warrior who gained their martial art skill throught training while 武士, 武 mean of 武術/武功 martial art and 士 mean of 人士 which person/people, but if 武士 refer to 武勇人士 then yea it warrior.

A single word sometime having a lot of meaning so it make translate so hard...
