Valkyrie leveling event in NA such as EU TERA?

Are we getting a leveling event with the Valkyrie release such as the EU TERA one: https://en.tera.gameforge.com/news/detail/new-class-reserve-your-name-2

I wonder specifically about an achievement for reaching level 65 within the first 72 hours of the patch.

My main concern is that if we get something similar, the release date is 4/4 which is a tuesday. I'm a fast leveler for a new player (under 20 hours usually, best was 13 hours with Elite status) but I work during weekdays (and may travel).

So I hope if we get something similar, it counts the played hours of the character, so we can level on our pace, or at least an event that starts a timer on a weekend (the first week following the release?).

"played hours of the character"? that messed up, people who just happen to be in the right time slot should get an unfair advantages, I am writing the president about this.

Please Note: this is intended to be interpreted as an ironic response "the use of words expressing something other than their literal intention" I think it is a good move to be honest. But they probably won't do it in NA because every time EU have a good idea, EME ignore it for some reason.

Sure they (EME) will do pretty much the same. Just like earlier patch (Ninja), we got title reward for those who complete full leveling in ? hours.
I can bet our "elitist" can do full level 65 Valkyrie in 3 hours max.

with the changes to priest buffs not applying out of parties, not gonna happen. there was also a 2x exp event running during ninja's release which we may not get
  • Also low level dungeons are becoming harder. They increased the health and defense on all mobs and bosses. It takes 2-3x longer to do one run after patch

But is it coming with the Valkyrie? Or is it coming with the VM9 patch?
  • With the Valkyrie patch. The update to ktera that increased the difficultly of low lvl dungeons came with the Valkyrie. VM 9 came out roughly 1 monthish after Valkyrie came out

2-3x? I saw a video a week ago, of a ninja that literally spent 20 minutes fighting the first boss. It's gonna be a lot more than 2-3x :p

If we use what happened with Ninja as guidance, there was a certain title you could get if you managed to level within the first day, but anyone who managed to level within the first month got the other leveling prizes (including the costume + weapon skin). So it was only the title that was limited, and that was a way of broadening it from the original "server-first" to a wider group.

I don't think the intention of the title was that it be something done at your own pace, but rather to encourage people who were part of the launch day rush, and still keep it somewhat rare (but not nearly as rare as "cutting edge" was, since that was subject to abuse). It looks like EU is keeping "cutting edge" but having a sort of "runner-up title" for anyone in the first three days, an I hope that this isn't what EME does for us.

Why hate on some what you can't accomplish? You'll be able to acquire the newbie titles even if you take your time.

    in order to be eligible for cutting edge title;
You have to make sure you are home as soon as the patch is active, screw you if you have real life commitments like work, school etc.
You need to go ham for 6 hours (I think that is about the time the first brawler got to 65, no idea though) screw you if you have real life commitments like work, school etc, oops I said that already.
You need all your stuff sorted out in advance and ready to go, can't waste time enchanting.
Being rich in game helps a lot, stuff like good undies, looting pets and storage pets along with a decent mount (probably don't need royal dragon thankfully).
You need to be familiar with the optimal levelling technique (I don't have a F'ing clue how someone levels optimally) I suspect it involves levelling alongside a tank and healer so you can steamroll queues all the way to end cap, but I really have no idea.

...and you can do everything right and still not get it lol.

No matter when they start the event, it's inconvenient for someone. My friend works overnights, so if they were to start the even in the "after school prime time" hours for you, it'd be inconvenient for him and anyone else who sleeps during the afternoon because their job has them start at 2AM. Catering to you then becomes a "screw you" to him.

I work 9 hour days with a 30+ minute commute to and from work and could easily find ~6 hours to do this because I know ahead of time this is happening so I can schedule around it. Spending one day going [filtered]-to-the-wall to get an achievement for one single day isn't all that bad to be honest unless of course, you don't like the idea of actually sacrificing a little to get something you want.

TL:DR - You need to practice and prepare in advance for this because it's not a casual's achievement, you need to work for it...

Every decision EME makes is inconvenient to one person or another, no matter what they do. You just got handed a less-than-ideal condition this time around. You're by far not the only one, I'm writing this from my job that I work 9-6 Mon-Fri at. I'm just as screwed as you are. Just be glad you're able to be a part of the leveling event at all and will have at least a chance at getting something. At least it's not like in the past where only 1 person on each server was going to be able to get the title, and you had people transferring servers to steal it and move back.

I really don't hope they have us level to 65 within a day of launch because for EST players that basically means a super late night leveling run. I am ok with titles for 1st and what not but those are going to groups who are carrying a pocket healer with them the whole way up so it's a non issue. But I plan on leveling a valk but was hoping I didn't have to take off work to accomplish it.
  • The big reason they got rid of "cutting edge" here last time was because there were so many different things they would have had to turn off in the game to have any hope of making it "fair". As it stands, anyone with TERA Rewards 10 is at a significant advantage with the multiplying XP bonus, and this is something EU doesn't have. So I don't think we will do it the EU way, in any case; at least, it wouldn't make sense to do so.

Welcome to real life, where real life mirrors real life. You can do everything right in your commitments like work, school, even in gaming... and still not get it lol.
