Discount for multi-month sub, or sub sale coming soon?

Is there a discount if you pay for multiple months of a sub at once?

Or is there a sub sale coming anytime soon?

En Masse once did a $9.99 a month sub deal where, as long as you didn't cancel, you got it for that price. I missed the boat on that one, but it sure would be awesome to have that option again!

How about an Easter sale, En Masse? I'd love to sub up again!

  • Tera used to have multi-month subs; I remember subbing by the year. Any specials incoming, En Masse?

You get 450 EMP per month with Elite, so you're paying 1495 EMP ($14.95) upfront and getting $4.50 back worth of EMP.

You're basically paying $10.45 a month, which is pretty close to the $9.99 price you're asking for. Now that you get EMP for Elite, there will most likely not be discount for Elite... EVER!
  • You get that *if you log in every single day.* If you only get to play a few times a week, or are a weekend warrior with a family and a job, you really don't. And if you're not big into buying cash shop items, it isn't as big a deal, either. Just sayin'.

This and a lot of other things in the game now encourage you to at least log in once a day. You have the calendar items, the 7-day-consecutive buffs, Fed Bills, daily Elite gift/consumable, TERA Reward Daily Credits, and now the 15 EMP. It's all basically set up so that you will at least start the game every day, even if you don't have the time to play. You're right that, for people who aren't able to do that, it's probably much easier to just ignore it all, including Elite.

That said, I think Ginjitsu is right that the changes they've made are probably intended to increase the perceived value of Elite so they don't have to discount it. (But I still do think a multi-buy discount and subscriber loyalty rewards would be good ideas, if it were possible.)

Its not that hard to log in every day, it only takes under 5 minutes and it doesn't require you to play.

Then save the daily EMP to buy Elite, pay for 3 months and get 1 month free!

I wasn't aware you could pay for your sub with EMP. That brings the sub down to 11.25 a month, you just have to remember to cancel every 3 months so your credit card doesn't continue getting charged. Then you have to sign up again after the EMP month. A bit of a pain but I guess that could work.

You'd think En Masse would prefer to get the concurrent payments instead of having lots of people canceling every few months, though. What if they forget to sub up again, and a few months goes by? They can still play for free, after all. In the long run En Masse is probably losing more sub money that way, than if they offered multi-month discounts and kept the subbers paying every month.

You wouldn't have to cancel, actually. When you use an Elite Voucher, it extends your renewal date by 30 or 90 days (depending on the one you use). You won't get billed again until your renewal date, so it'll simply skip the month(s) when you use vouchers.

I think they should offer rewards for concurrent subscriptions, but it actually wouldn't matter whether people are using vouchers or paying by card/PayPal (or any combination thereof).

Actually, looking in the store now, it costs 1995 EMP for a 1-month sub. You only get 450 EMP per month while you're Elite, so it appears I would have to pay for 5 months (to get up over 1995 EMP), then I'd be able to get the 6th month free. That's not nearly as good as deal as what you said, no offense. If I was paying for a sub, would the cost of Elite vouchers go down in the store?

No, it's the same price for everyone. The only voucher discount happens with the 90-day one, but it'd take a good while to save up for that.
