removing original island of dawn ranks up there with the fate of arune patch........crap. it seems like the game is trying to make you solo and rush to 65 now. they even messed up the lore. I do wish we could have iod back. like people said, it let you party up, gather, learn about bombs, campires and charms, then the level 60 quest there with the nocterium and invisiblity potion. when I think back on my greatest times in the game, it always goes back to there. even the guild recruitment day was held there that one time. it was so cool to see all that. that was a good day looking around at the guilds that were recruiting. they need something like that again. things that's non killing to bring back the community together.
being cheap and not wanting to waste a campfire and charm , standing there waiting for someone else to throw one in lol. coming down off the hill a certain way so you didn't lose any health and later on not having to use the featherlight potion. priests standing around buffing newbies as they pass by. griefing gunners when they came out by hiding on the rock where that one guy spawned at and killing it ( ok that was wrong and only did it a few times ).
I still don't know why reaper had its own starting area and starting at 50. were bhs trying to test it and see if people would rather start higher to get started doing endgame stuff? or was it a treat to the players?

This has been my experience since returning. In some ways it's good, because the questing is pretty God-awful for the most part relative to other successful MMORPGs. This is repeatedly the feedback you read in reviews following the game's release (and the convoluted storyline), so it makes sense. But exploration and marveling at the world is also a part of the game, and you miss a lot of that now. There are whole areas that I skipped with the past two characters I leveled up, and Tera has some of the most beautifully designed landscapes I've seen in any MMO, which is kind of a shame. I'd have preferred that Bluehole focused on improving the questing experience rather than dropping questing in favor of powerleveling, but it's still a great game.

There's a reason Blizzard has starting areas for each race and at least two paths when leveling. Some people prefer Borean Tundra, and others prefer the Howling Fjord.
