This patch, you cannot afford to not gear up regardless of role.
As I imagined. There was times when I was simply madly raging on chat when my heals failed locks out of the blue, or my I-frames suddenly got me a hit even tho it was perfectly timed. Servers were defecating themselves for a while. Combine that + it actually got buffed back, and you'll find some nasty deaths like you saw.
The concept of "fake difficulty" is very real in TERA. This means that uncontrollable things like sudden hardware performance dips, controls unresponsiveness, server sided lags (in case of online games), badly coded or sized safe/hit zones or downright bugs, make the content harder than it was intended to be.
Needs one person to hold Sorc away, better have M/P for HM, NM not mandatory but would help.
I have a strategy for DF tanking, I am not codex like koniggini
The run that I was involved in this past weekend was my 1st time trying dfhm in this new patch and the party consisted with a solo priest comp, unfortunately we were not able to find a mystic at the time for double heals. At 1st boss, we had trouble with Prima and later we all wiped. Part of it was the random server lagging but majority of it was a bit of lack on dps and trouble was keeping Prima far away from Vera. On the 3rd try, one of the party members took initiative and did a really awesome job at Prima while I tried my best to maximize puddles management. But at some point I knew that I can only do so much and things would get rough because of the low party dps. I realized that they also buffed the endurance in this dungeon as well, which made matters worse. Prima started to come near me quite frequently as the duration of the fight prolonged and I started to run out of optimal room when Vera's hp hit ~30-40 percent. It was difficult because we did not have double heals in this run and the fact that I had to pause at times so I don't take aggro on Prima but then there is risk losing aggro to Vera if I pause too long. I kinda had to will myself to tank both and dodge them at the same time so I don't get sleep from Prima. When Vera hit around 20 percent hp, the room was literally full of puddles and me trying to trying to dodge the puddles were starting to become minimal. At this point I slowly climbed to 10 stacks and was able to tank Vera with no hits through block. Not that it matters but my gear is full behemoth and I did not get 1 shot at all (referring to op's 1st post about behemoth's getting 1 shot). This fight was so long that I noticed one or two of the puddles started disappearing.1st time I ever seen that happen because I was never in such a long battle involving this one. But due to the endurance buff and low party dps, that occurred. I also noticed Vera's rotations seem a bit different at times (unless that's just me), like he cancels out his attacks more frequently than before but overall his hits seem normal.
Second boss was okay but was a very slow fight. Big problem was dealing with so many crabs since it was a bit of a nightmare when there are so many of them while trying to keep the boss facing the wall but was doable. Last boss we wiped several times due to the server lag but majority of the problem was when boss hits ~30 percent hp, usually it was the many mobs started piling up and it gets difficult to deal with if the tank is the only one alive. On the 4th try, the party switched to mystic + priest comp and then we cleared. The server lag was kind to us on that attempt.
One of the moral here is that if the party is low on dps for this dungeon, be prepared to be focused and have patience because it will be a very very very long run.
Here are some things to note if you're in a Dfhm party for this patch:
-Make sure to have good party comp such as good balanced dps and double heals or if party is confident enough, can go with solo heals.
-Make sure to have a good tank who can position Vera well and maximize puddles as much as possible while another party member who is confident at keeping prima away at least 18m or further.
-With low party dps, 1st boss fight will be tough no matter how good the tank and person taking care of prima are. At some point, the tank will most likely have to tank both bosses.
-With low party dps, you will have trouble dealing with mini crabs as a tank.
-With low party dps, you will have trouble dealing with mobs at last boss as a tank if your party dps is low, most noticeably around 30 percent hp and under.
-Speaking of party dps, it's essential because of how high the endurance is buffed just like in the new dungeons and bosses are only enraged for 37 seconds.
-Since this dungeon is considered high tier now, having at least the new mid tier gear or above is highly recommended. Imperator/Guile is doable but makes it very slow.
-Getting hit by puddle, which triggers one stack, usually last about 2 minutes but if keep getting hit, it will renew to 2 minutes each time and increase each stack for each hit until it reaches 10.
-If people are getting 1 shot, it could mean that they had many stacks and the damage is more gruesome in leather or cloth classes than metal classes. Other reasons might contribute to the server lagging or things like gear rolls such as chest.
Pretty sure that is your problem. I have been in several DFHM runs and even people with behemoth and ambush +15 are getting a hard time on it, many dps desync, tanks being killed to fast, the heck I had to tank like 5 minutes with a dps without blocks becuase tank die too fast.
Other thing that makes this dungeon really hard on IM is because we have only 1 healer instead of 2, that makes it less forgiving. In one run a was the only one who didn't use neo ress but last boss one shot everyone in some kind of freeze that several had in that moment. Not sure how many had this issue but at least 3 on party die because of that, I don't know if is hardware related because freeze is usually when your system get overloaded.
