    I dont really see how server transfers lag the server, i dont think many ppl is server transfering constantly for weeks lagging the server, that is kind of... NOPE

    Yes, because there was an issue that needed fixing. Which this maintenance should do.

    They said they turned it off because it might have been a reason for the lag.

    How does server xfers = lag

    Ah, I was posting it since OP was asking about maintenance and I know most people wouldn't think to check there. I also added in to the news post of the Player Council discord so hopefully other people were able to see it.

    An official thread/new post wouldn't hurt though. Not sure how many players actively check other social media and if you weren't online when the servers went down and didn't see the notice then how do you know to check the patch notes and stuff.

    Heck? (weird filter is weird) I was online and still didn't see the notice for servers going down, had just queued for a dungeon and was in mid conversation when the game dropped me. I don't remember what setting in chat allows you to see those, I turned most notices off because they're spammy as heck* and flood my chat tabs.

    each server has different data base. and transfering from a server to another means moving the data from 1 to 2. and they dont do it on maintenance. they do it while server is on and working properly. an example of this its like u're using wifi to watch youtube in 1080p, and then suddenly u need to download something. and the download with make ur video lag / load slower than before. same happens with the server transfer.

    I have a chat tab just for all those notices. There should be an announcement that goes across your screen to warn you that the server will go down soon. It usually starts popping up about an hour? before they take the server down. If you weren't on when the message goes off I dont think you see them in the other notices.

    It'd be hard to give everyone advanced warning because some people don't notice or check the website and since this was a hot fix they probably didn't have much time. But a news post or thread would be useful because once the server did go down players could come to the website and see why.

    there were notices in game, 15 mins, 10 mins, 5 mins, 1 mins, BIG BIG on screen. If you could see your char, you could see them too.

    Because this is EME were dealing with and they don't communicate in that fashion anymore like they used to do.
