That said, the fact that it was easier at the end of a previous gear cycle vs. the start of a new gear cycle isn't itself all that unusual in the MMORPG world. It's really about the way it's different and the impact on different demographics.
Well... in a way it sort of reminds me of how BAMs were back in the early days before there were avatar weapons in the game. I guess the only difference is that they did a bit more damage and had maybe a bit less HP... but, anyway, I guess the issue is that people want something not too difficult to farm, and it's true that -- for the moment anyway -- it seems easier to farm the BAMs on the newer classes than at least some of the older ones.
That said, I don't think the IoD content is itself a big problem having as an option. Whether there's too much dependence on it could be debated, and the relative difficulty/time involvement between classes is worth considering.
I think it's just silly to get tokens in a round robin style when some classes can easily kill one in few seconds.
There is a massive difference between getting that much feedstock in 15 minutes per character over the time you have to spend per character this patch. IoD BAMs have more health now or something, so on lower geared characters those dailies take quite a while.
I'm totally fine with the way it is right now. I feel like we get enough reward for our effort atm, but if they shut off the event, the amount of effort it takes to get this much feedstock just isn't going to even out. Last patch, even without TAR we had decent ways of getting FS. A lot dropped in dungeons, you could dismantle fodder gear, we got a decent amount from vanguards, just running stuff gave you a lot. This patch is more or less the same, except we get next to none from dungeons (like 5 FS a run without double drop...really?), can't dismantle anything, and are relying solely on vanguards, which currently are only doubled due to a band-aid event.
I think it's even now, but it won't be on the 7th.
