Hypothetical question: How would community react if EME merges empty server like CH to healthy one?

I think that most people who go to CH are not looking for the most populous server in the first place. And besides, CH is not an empty server either; it remains way more populated than LoT and VoT were before they merged. Given the complications this will cause with names (a big deal on an RP server) and with people being over the character cap (since cosmetics are a big deal on CH), I think it should only be explored as a last resort. I don't think we're nearly at that last resort now.

I've been on all servers. The ones that actually look like they need a merge is AV and FF.

If you think ch is empty then you obviously haven't played on an actual dead game before when there's one or two active people running around and the chat doesn't move at all.

I agree that ch isn't as active like it was 3 or 4 years ago but you people who think so don't know the meaning of dead or empty.

Where does the roleplaying take place, exactly? Every time these merger threads come up, people say they want to keep CH separate for the roleplaying, but I only ever see folks in the tavern roleplaying occasionally. They could continue to do this in the case of a merge. Literally nothing would stop them. In fact, they might get even more people coming to participate, and if someone wants to harass them for roleplaying (which is a possibility even on CH; let's not act like people are incapable of being obnoxious wherever you go) they can block and report them like always. I just don't see the big deal honestly. Hardly anyone on CH names their character an actual name (the poster referencing naming issues cracked me up; have you been there lately? People name themselves after objects, food, random nouns. anyone who gave themselves a proper name would likely have little to worry about) or bothers to roleplay at all. Only a couple of RP guilds are even alive and appear to have either died or gone underground lately. Whatever special RP aspect this server currently possesses is a shadow of its former self, and merging us with AV or FF wouldn't harm one's ability to host a beach event, or to sit in a tavern and talk in /rp. I just wonder if the people who bring up the roleplaying argument even roleplay, themselves. And if they do, why do they feel like a merger would prevent them from roleplaying in the future?

This server is much emptier than it used to be, and continues to shrink as time goes on. People saying things are fine just happen to play within a group that's doing fine at the moment. I even recognize a few of them from in game. They're nice people, but they're guild leaders and harrowhold runners and people who basically have a nice thing going in their little group already, so they either don't see the decline because they don't have to leave their social circle very often, or they don't want a merger to happen because it might affect the prosperity they've already found. For anyone who actually uses LFG though, you can't tell me it hasn't been dead these last few days. And players who rely on the brokerage for things like etchings and designs, but have to wait ages before one even shows up on the market, you can't tell me that's normal. And then there's this guy saying everything's cheaper here, who made me laugh so hard I nearly choked. Scarcity makes things expensive, dude. My friend moved here from MT and was shocked by how much certain items cost in comparison. We didn't have a vex & bedevil design on the broker for like two weeks, something I only know because a warrior I know was looking for one for ages. Don't even get me started on costumes. I guarantee you at least one of the people against merging CH only takes this stance because they've made bank selling rare costumes on CH that, due to the larger populations elsewhere, are relatively common.

there is roleplaying in many different areas, and not just guilds, different guilds and non guildies are roleplaying with each other. you just have to know where to go and the times to be there. one of the reasons that its not public knowledge is because of people coming around and spamming their mounts or skills disrupting the people trying to role play. I wont say where or when they are for that reason alone. if people want to know and are serious, then make a character on ch and prove yourself at the tavern in velika 1st and then you will find out where the other places are.
If any merges do happen, I would like to see ch stand alone and let the others merge however they want. server merges doesn't do anything to help the population. we have had a few of them so far and nothing changed except for more people leaving. if they want to have more populated areas, then they need to quit removing content from the game ( or when they do, replace it with something worthwhile ) and fix the issues that has been around for years like lagging or d/c.
maybe the upcoming patches will help with a few problems, and maybe keep the ones we have. bhs/eme doesn't need to merge servers until they fix their servers and also wait and see what the consoles will do for population. it would be crazy to merge al the servers and then need to make new ones later on due to many coming from consoles.

I know its been answered but CH doesnt need a server merge and since there isnt another RP sever, either the people on CH will be mad or the other server would be mad because CH would spread the "love" to everyone (coming from someone who plays CH)

There's plenty of RP going on these days, aside from the tavern that's Lit basically every night there's plenty of events recently, stuff you'd really only find out if you participated in said RP cause there are plenty of harassers out there so it's not like RP groups can publicly advertise events and what not. I mean, what does it matter to you, right? What do Mahou/ex-mahou members even RP aside from futa elin [filtered]..... If it bugs you that much then why don't you just transfer, they're back open you know, I'm sure MT or TR would welcome you with open arms!!!

p.s. i am not in a big guild, nor belong to any sorta clique. in fact most of my friends let CH eons ago. FeelsBadMan
