For New Players; An Annoyance to Avoid

I have a quest that requires me to complete a 5 man dungeon by myself in normal mode or find a guild.

How did this happen? I outleveled the quest zone and began the quest not knowing I would not be able to complete it. Now I have an unusuable inventory slot until I can either solo the 5 man dungeon or join a guild and get that guild to help me. So yeah, if you're new. Warning, don't start story quests in areas you've outeleveled.

In fact. Now that I know how confusing the entire quest system is in Tera, I think I will just take a few at a time and complete them. Then I'll take a few more and complete those.

Ignore those question marks unless you intend to complete them immediately. Don't do what you do in every other MMORPG you've ever played, don't take all the quests you see and you won't end up with dozens of worthless quests that you can't abandon.

You may have heard that Tera has horrible quests? It's true. Avoid them as much as possible.

  • I agree, side quests aren't worth the time and effort, story quests are where it's at. Tbh, you should even disable the yellow side quest icons on your map. On the point about horrible quests, if you are a player just starting Tera, DO consider finishing most/all the main quests, just to experience the game itself. The artwork itself is definitely top-quality out of most of the other MMORPGs I've played, so it's worth the time imo.

Once you've reached max lvl, you'll probably be grinding the same dungeons and spamming basilisks for the rest of your foreseeable TERA career... and if you decide to dedicate more time to the game, you can spam lower lvl dungeons from lvl 1-64 instead of main story quests.

if you're leveling you'll be at a point where you can solo that 5-man dungeon yourself in no time, seriously, not as hard as it sounds. if you're nervous just wait until you hit like level 60 and go back and finish up any left over quests, don't even gotta be max level. just cause you outleveled a quest doesn't mean you still can't finish it eventually.

Yup. I ended up doing all the side quests at level 65 (I was getting achievements), so there's not upper limit to when you can do them.
