Profession advice pls
So I read (on the EU forums) that the only profession worth leveling is alchemy. Is this true, or is it just an opinion that may vary from one player to another? Basically, just wondering if as a new player myself, sorcerer for my first toon, do I bother with any profession?

All 3 are worth it imho. Alchemy is for crafting silver plate i think.
master armorcraft is for craft silver plate
@KKNTCATDYK, u need to hoard silver talent, golden talen, and refining kits...
Gathering is only used for skilling up if you don't want to buy the mats from the broker. Once you are skilled all mats drop from dungeons, IoD, or you buy kits from the alchemy merchants.
- Weapon crafting > golden talents, darics, plates (Weapons and Armor)
- Armor crafting > silver talents, siglos, plates (Accessories)
- Alchemy > kits, ruby, sapphire, emerald, diamond (mats for enchanting gear)
- Etching > tons of things > (weapon, armor, accessory etchings obviously)
Alchemy is probably the least profitable (other than etching perhaps.) Weapon crafting is needed not only for your own gear, but it is incredibly profitable (but you'll have to farm the talents.) Golden talents are probably the easiest to acquire, silver talents very difficult.
My suggestion would be to do weapon crafting, as everyone needs it. Many people do not upgrade accessories beyond mid tier, so it becomes hard to move siglos/plates.
