Brawler Tips and tricks?
Hey guys I decided to run a brawler instead of a lancer...now that I'm 65 ilvl 410 I figured it would be good to get some tips on how to play my role/class effectively

More ppl will give much better tips for sure hehe, but using your rotation wisely while having GF up you just need to know which boss mechanics to avoid and that's it. Of course you also need to sustain aggro from bosses but that's another (still working on that one).
Not quite sure about specific boons but I mainly focused on Crit and threat, pretty sure my set is far from perfect.
Item level 411 brawler.
Old video tho, I changed my build a lil bit to more high crit, more cooldowns on gear and glyphs and more attack speed.
I'll post the glyps im using if you want.
For Example: Haymaker has a very long "Backswing" animation, if you don't cancel out of it...then you're standing around not doing anything for a few seconds while you're still losing Rage
However, you can use Counterpunch/GP/RKH to "Cancel" out of the animation lock and resume attacking faster, improving your DPS (and probably getting a perfect block out of it)
Other than that...Don't loose Growing fury if you're able to (Get those perfect blocks)...Jackhammer doesn't scale of A-speed so it doesn't have *too* much value...Bull rush has a 50% damage mitigation on it so you can face tank some stuff with it and stay on the boss...RHK topline is slightly better than Jackhammer top but only if you usr RHK properly to cancel out of attacks and it also leads to a higher Powerlink uptime
I went the other way around, it seems, and am realizing that I can sustain aggro 100% but my actual rotations are spammy and all over the place.
But I'm generally staying alive and generally sustaining aggro so my main duties are being fulfilled, and can learn the rest as I go.
@TheGrimner just saw your videos from here: https://forums.enmasse.com/tera/discussion/comment/237217/#Comment_237217
You need to fasten your skills you're losing rage too fast in those 2 videos, your GF was up just for a few seconds.
I am aware. it changed today, as I realocated glyphs following @Vinyltails 's tips on that thread (ty for those, they made a lot of difference!), and both in the test dungeons and in the bams i tested, I can now maintain rage for most or all of the fight (at leas in the bams case, bosses are still dependent on their specific mechanics and the duration of the fight).
it was like I said earlier, I went the other way around, and figured that if Brawler tanks have a perceived aggro problem, learning to sustain it should be my priority. I'm getting good at that part, now I am working on the next layer. my point with those videos was not a "look how well i can play my class" but a "even doing a ton of mistakes, the brawler can be viable at its basic job of pinning the boss".

To be honest, it sounds like you got aggro down. Don't let anyone tell you any different, as a tank, your only job is aggro and threat management. If you lose it on rare occasions for a sec ir two, that's fine, as a good crit from a sorc or zerk WILL steal aggro, even from good lancers. But overall, if you can get and hold aggro, everything else will improve over time. As you inevitably change glyphs and gems and gearing options, always remember to hold aggro. The moment your threat is stolen more often, you made a bad change and need to swap back before figuring out what else needs improvements.
Trust mr, as my zerk and my mystic, I have stolen aggro from brawlers. All the time. I have used a thrall to steal and hold aggro from a brawler. If you are holding aggro against similarly geared dps, tour doing better than 90% of other brawlers. Keep at it.
Thanks. One of my other mains is a sorcerer, so I've witnessed the other side of it.
I also came from NW, where tanking was more traditional, especially with a paladin. But I'm kinda OCD about making toons and learning them, figure that gives me perspective on class synergy. Brawlers kind of eluded me for a bit, along with the nature of the game and boss patterns (not gonna lie, I *may* have tried to tank Kalivan's charge attack once or twice...), but right now I am finding her as sturdy as my Lancer, even (though I'm still learning that one). It's the sweet spot of aggressiveness and defensiveness that makes the class compeling.
