I'm glad PvP is dying

I went to the MT server pvp area today.. I was there for less than 10 minutes and observed several instances of cyber bullying and extreme name calling. It was like watching school-yard drama unfold.. there was the typical group of bullies with max gear, and they were killing and name calling people in guardian and twisthard gear.

I get that it's a PvP server.. but youre in max gear, and your cyber bullying a new player; you know, an actual person. It made me feel sick to know that this type of behavior is being tolerated. I messaged the person afterwards to make sure they were okay. I think these PvP people are real jerks, or maybe they forget that it's a real person behind each character.

So yeah, I'm happy PvP is dying and look forward to the day these toxic people leave.

  • I agree with you that lots of pvpers are bullying each other since it is player vs player. PVErs cannot bully the boss anyway.

But it really seems like a group of people are really mad at guild ManiXXX today since I saw several name-calling's today.
Remember that "Calling out a name" is against forum rules, and you are violating it. So what you were stating above is just similar as what those toxic people did to you(or someone else) - cyber bullying.

If you screen cap or video the bullying, you can report it to EME. I'm told that action is taken by others who have reported before.

I can help you with bullying, click the PvE server or turn off your monitor.

its pretty much the same as people in game and in the forums... calling people that play as elins p.e.d.o.s. to me that is a form of bullying also.

    Someone's a bit defensive.

LIke I tell my kids, they are unhappy people that are just trying to take their frustrations with life out on others. If they have nothing better to do with their lives than to grind for max gear for the sole purpose of teasing and belittling others, I have pity for them. Thankfully, my kids play loads of different games, so they can just play another game if adults start in with them. I do find (for some odd reason) that adults have a severe problem with kids that play their games. I think adults often delude themselves into thinking that they've really accomplished some major life feat by maxing out or dong whatever. Then, some kid comes along less than half their age to accomplish the same. It really seems to tick off the adults like crazy. I only mention this as I see it a lot in Tera.

I think that it is an isolated incident lol. While I wasn't lucky enough to be there to watch the drama unfold (honestly I really doubt it happens everyday because the days I checked in MT it was pretty civil).

In case you are wondering, PvP didn't die because of toxicity, but they kept churning out op classes in pvp and not recognise the effort pvpers make (not the PKers you see, the actual rankers in FWC, 3s etc.). You are mistaking the term PvP (largely used for instanced battlegrounds and organised battles) for open world PK, which is normal since they call it a "PvP" server after all.

You haven't seen the actual toxic PvE players who just shout at them because they don't have stormcry gear yet.

  • 90% of the "cyber bullying" is jokes btw... I've been on both sides and like 1 hour later we're chill, its only people like you that take words in a game seriously enough to call it cyber bullying, and like someone above said, turn your monitor off if you can't handle it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    What is PvP? :^)

Be ready K tera remove outlaw skill , when that patch hit NA people can only kill other players via guild vs guild or pvp grounds. Guess will be a masive guilds rage quit.

All I'm saying is the game gives you options to ignore the toxicity if it actually bothers you. Block people, don't join a PvP server to start with, close your eyes, report people, etc., etc. If you've played literally any game with PvP, there is toxicity, get over it!
  • PVE have bulliying as well.
Game is full with elitist ptw as**oles, and they dont esitate a second if a player in the party dont have the right crystals, or dont know a mechanic, or even if his ilevel is not the top one.

    Welcome to MP games dude.

Oh and PVP is death thanks to BHS. ITs quite simple, just remove items benefit on PVP and problem solved.
    Example:
Change the skill "Outlaw declaration"... When you activate it, game puts on you the CS/FWC items, and you just have to put your crystals. That way, p2w it is only limited to PvE.
