Why are my characters missing?

So i recently wanted to play Tera after uninstalling it and not playing for about a year. I go to my steam library and i notice, that the game is not there anymore. So, i look it up on the store and i find it, but it has been listed as a new game?? I download the game, log on and i find out that none of my characters are there. Also, i noticed that the servers have changed.

    Should check to see which publisher you downloaded from. When tera was first released on steam it was only the eme/NA version. They had to remove the option to download for EU players at the request of Gameforge (Treeshark put a news post out at the time but it's probably gone now). There's a chance you started on the NA servers but are currently running the EU version of the game.

    If it is the same version, there was a server merge a while back ago. A lot of inactive servers were merged together into what is now Fey Forest. I'd look for them there.

    So the Gameforge version of the game is the NA version? If i download that will i be able to play in the NA servers?

    Gameforge is EU.
    EnMasse is NA.
    This is the NA forum. What version you have from stream depends on where you live, but either client may be downloaded from the respective websites.

    Welcome back! If you need some help check out Essential Mana's website, as MANY things are completely different. They have some great guides for returning players.
