Launcher problem! [solved]

so i click the tera launcher and this pops up along the launcher:

"the Tera launcher is unable to update the launcher.
ErrorMessage: unable to unzip manifest"

fun times...

help me please

I had this issue right after the last patch. It's really annoying, and I had to play through steam's autologin (as opposed to downloading w/ steam but opening the launcher separately) to fix it.

well, i downloaded the game directly from the game website... This has nothing to do with Steam

Okay so i tried to follow instructions on the help pages... I deleted all mentioned Launcher files & downloaded a "new" one.

NOPE. DIDN'T HELP.

I even reinstalled the game. Or something like that...i mean it didn't even start loading the game. Launcher just...yeahh...

DOUBLE NOPE.

i contacted support coz i don't know what's going on.

i Think im having the same type of crash on windows 10 Pro 64bit the launcher starts updates but when i Click play it closes and will not start no matter what i do. no errs just closes for no reason but the same game works on a old crappy Laptop

this isn't a crash issue though. i've had those too but ages ago...
this launcher doesn't start anything...except error windows.
i've played this game for several years...with same pc

my pc is in Finnish so it's a little hard to figure it out...(i'm from Finland..)

Honestly, I tried to find the temporary solution that someone did to make it work for at least BDO. Though I remember some administrator setting or something like that or disabling something? *I'm so sorry*

You could try to install windows 10 correctly, windows 10 on UEFI, instead of BIOS with correctly updated drivers and correctly updated windows 10.

Windows 1803 build has some problems on it's own a bit as I have seen, so make sure nothing is conflicting like bad installed drivers and all that. Look at your event logs->just search event logs; event viewer will come up.

It could solve some issues with XIGNCODE not doing it's distribution? Though I don't know? Still it would be good to have it.

i did the troubleshooting, and there was a "possible windows update database error" alrighty then...

and i do have plenty of those visual c++ thingies already..

don't think failure to unzip manifest is xigncode related. it's more likely you're getting a corrupt manifest from whichever patch node you're connecting to, ememe tends to screw some over every patch day. It'll probably fix itself on the next patch day when they screw something up and flush the nodes again, but in the meantime things that might work: play through steam (steam has current non-corrupted files at the moment, for once), use a vpn or change hosts file/dns server to connect to a different node, here's some directions from counterpoint that might help

So, u're saying i should play Tera through Steam using VPN? I don't really like that option, vpn are complicated, flickery and this issue should be fixable Tera has and will always be full of issues but they have always been able to get fixed.

But i wish it wouldn't take a month to fix this...it's been 2 days since i've heard from Tera Support, i gave them EME diagnostic file and some other thing. And here we are...waiting...

I have no clue about nodes, and altering host stuff is a little too much for me...but i can try check it out?

I gave Tera Support a file of my CDM code text thingy. About like traceroutes n stuff...

But i've played this game just fine before i donno why would there suddenly be this kinda issue? sigh...
