Highest Playtime keeps names can be cheated

Hi EME, Will people that purposely cheated and name changed their character still have the highest playtime? Or will it reset? To make it simple. It's possible to name change your character on your highest playtime character. So that way you keep the name even if they were originally a low level character.

Any insights to this EME? I believe a lot of people will do this. Now that I've said this in forums.
Regards, Grace.

"Cheating" would require you to have some sort of third-party software that miraculously adds X amount of playtime to your character. What you've described isn't cheating, and this isn't anything new - if anything it's a somewhat overzealous way to make sure you have a much higher chance at keeping a character name that's important to you. These people are paying for 1-2 name change vouchers just to do this. They're losing the name the character had previously just to make sure that they keep a name that they have on their server. If their character has more playtime than yours, then that's just how the cookie crumbles. This is why it's smart to come up with more creative character names and/or make sure that you make Lv. 1 alts on other servers so you can't lose your name in a merge.
