Anybody Else Extremely Annoyed with Server Merge Rules?
Anybody else going to lose like 1/2 of their characters due to this Server Merge?
Did I mis-read the rules?
I have 5 characters on AV and 5 on TR and I am now going to lose 5 characters?
Why?
Years ago AV and TR were the two PVE servers, so if you are a long time player, you have your characters there, and with the slots they gave you over the years, with new Class introductions, you have a bunch of characters on each of those servers.
So, Enmasse? You are trying to get me to go play some other game by deleting 1/2 my characters?

But seriously, Server merges mean that the game is not being played at the rates when it once was, so they are trying to consolidate hardware. So it's a good thing to punish all the folks that are still playing the game, right? So let's design a server merge that does that to the extent possible.

- They aren't making enough Money and want a big up tick in New Character Slots purchases?

Right? Or is there something else I missed?
Starting tomorrow at 11am PDT until the merger happens, they will be distributing 8 free character slot items via item claim to everyone who logs in. If you use 5 of these character slots on the server that has the most slots now (in your case either AV or TR since they're the same), you will then have a total of 10 slots on the merging server, and won't have to delete any.
So in your case, just use the character slot items, and you will be okay.
Now, if you had 15 on TR and also 15 on AV or something... then you'd be screwed because the max is 20. So in that case you'd have to transfer some off to either CH or MT/FF, or delete them.

That mitigates part of my issue. Not sure why they didn't just make it automatic. Something like: That would have made the whole thing automagic. You know, the way computers without bugs are supposed to work?
Sigh.
