  • Probably not, but it's still weird that your in-game display is that much higher than the traceroute. (It's normal for it to be a bit higher but not double.) Are you playing with a gaming VPN or anything? It could be something like that is making it worse, and only impacting the game and not showing up on a regular trace.

You can also try traceroute to the two servers 208.67.49.50 and 208.67.49.51 but not you won't be able to go all the way to the end (it'll timeout at the last hops because of ping being firewall blocked).

No. I dont use any vpn or any third party software. I like to play it the way it is.
The problem have resolved itself apparently. I'm not sure whether they have turn zayo back on, my ping tracer still go through savvis like normal. And the only thing i did on my side was that i changed my playtime. Hmm.. kinda weird. Coz u asking for feedback. And my feedback would be, my gaming experience is very smooth during the 'prime time' (3pm to 7pm Pacific, 6pm to 10pm Eastern).

This 'prime time', is the traffic is more from NA or EU? There is something i want to check on my side..

Those times are when it's busiest in NA. The busy times during the EU are before that -- like 17:00 to 21:00 UTC. If you're having trouble during that period, it might be that routing issues within EU are interfering as well.

  • I'll admit that the change to savvis has benefited me so far; haven't noticed any lag whatsoever yet. Even during peak times it has been very good so far. Ping is around ~22-35 average. FYI: The last 3-4 months when it was at zayo, I never had any issues until the bahar patch update. It seems like something changed on zayo since that day. It's weird because savvis was bad for me a lot earlier in the year but so far it's working great the past week.
  • Before patch: 25-40 ping
    after patch: 50-75 ping

location: less than 2 hour drive from the servers. v_v
  • FYI: The experiment is over and it seems they decided to go back to Zayo for now, while still considering other options. According to them they found Zayo to be slightly better overall, but not by much. If people continue to send feedback about routing problems they have, I'll keep sending it along.

Thank you for all of the feedback on this trial. Just like @counterpoint said, Zayo (before and after the trial) offers a slight improvement over Savvis. We will continue to monitor feedback.

im still getting lag spikes in game now and then however

These numbers are not very different from when Zayo was off compared to on so cant give much input in changes?
The ping spikes have at least been moderatly playable 100-140ms instead of the [filtered] 800+ i was getting lastnight

Edit: i always seem to be late on this didnt know it was over but whatever

Tbh you guys should've kept savvis. It seemed like that was very stable since last week. Never felt any issues during peak times like I have for past few weeks prior to last Tuesday. Those problems are back again with the zayo. It's a hit or miss sometimes on most days it would go from 70-120 and/or stay around 50-70 at peak times (mostly 7 or 8 pm till 10 pm ish ET).

Big difference to play from 20-30 ping to a slightly higher ping. While its manageable, it's a bit annoying at times. Definitely there is a hop somewhere at peak times is always something wrong. I don't think even showing my diag results to the teamwould help since I've sent that in multiple times in the past. I thought you guys would keep savvis for a while but was surprised at the quick change back to zayo. While i'll say this prior to the bahar update, zayo was fine for quite a few months because I never noticed any lag issues during peak times but it seemed like something changed since that update. Isn't there a way to investigate that?
  • Thank you, Eme. I'm having problems - DELAY - with my skills after this update. Nice, I can't play now.

I had the same issue and investigated it myself with tracert where the high latency was caused. I could pinpoint one of the nodes within USA was lagging before it reached the server. I had proof sent to support and they told me to use VPN so basically nothing you can do. I could also find around 5 people in EU using the same routing and would freeze exactly when I would too in game.
