[DEV NOTE] 64-bit TERA PC Client Update Coming Soon

A note from the TERA PC development team:

Client lag and memory shortage-related crashes have impacted TERA for a while now, but today we bring good news: TERA will soon be updated with a new 64-bit client environment!

As many of you know, 32-bit environments like the current TERA client are limited in the amount of memory (4GB RAM) and processing power they can utilize, regardless of how powerful the computer they’re running on may be. This has led to slowdown in gameplay and client crashes, especially when there are a lot of players or monsters in one place at the same time.

The client has also limited the development team when it comes to what we can and can’t add to the game. A 32-bit environment can only handle so much, and pushing the boundaries means risking a higher crash rate for players. This update to a 64-bit client will free us from worrying about all that. We’ll be able to explore ambitious new directions when creating future TERA content!

The 64-bit client update will enhance the gameplay experience in every way while also allowing us as developers to better realize our vision of the perfect TERA experience. This has been a long time in the making, and we’ve worked very hard to bring it to you. We thank you for your patience and invite you to look forward to more diverse and robust content once the 64-bit client environment has been implemented.

We can’t wait to share this next major step in the evolution of TERA!
