Where to pick up this game? I am so lost.
I played as gunner last summer, ended up leaving the game since could not get ambit cannon anyhow (saw it one time, but a priest rolled it) to get to the next level. At the time, I was not able to join a BRHM in pub because of my low gear score. +12 ambit chest, +12 discovery footwear, Idoneal cannon and glove are still what I have today.
I could not find anywhere a newer guide in terms of gear progression. I tried to find a discovery cannon (simplebolt rile) from broker, thought it would be cheap by now, but no trace. Feels like it is pretty hard to pick up this game. Especially when I see the majority of LFG are +15 requirement, I honestly think there is no point to invest more time into the game.
Probably just go back to Overwatch, Siege, Division.

most of the old gear isn't obtainable anymore. my Schisma was pretty much useless when i came back. Starfall (VM6) is pretty easy to obtain through PvP and the item that gives the designs are pretty cheap on the broker.
current progression is Idoneal > Dreadnaught > Slaughter > Starfall(VM6) > Imperator (VM7)
Starfall can pretty much be skipped.
Dreadnaught you need a 355 iLevel to queue for it.
Slaughter you need a 397 iLevel. a full Masterworked Slaughter +12 set brings you to a 414 iLevel which is enough to queue for SSHM
so Starfall isnt nessessary but it is helpful (i personally got a SF weapon and im planning on skippig the armor set till Imp)
Check your quest log, there should be 2 that send you to Highwatch, one of them later sends you to Island of Dawn where you get a red quest line (it's like 3 chained quests) that end in you getting a full Dreadnaught set along with some alkahest; that's your starter gear this patch, easy to MW and enchant (uses only 8 alkahest per try) and feedstock might be not so easy to get but you can continue to do the first 3 types of BAMs for which you'll have the required ilvl, it's Orisks, Ovoliths and Basilisks so it's pretty easy, you can use the tokens you get from those vanguard quests to buy Dreadnaught gear in the token shop, 20 tokens a piece (you use gear with the same name to enchant), about... 1.3k feedstock at most should be plenty to enchant Dreadnaught to +12 (entire set) if you don't want to be bothered with doing IoD vanguard quests for tokens.
