In TR, the going rate goes from 1:35 to 1:40.
I still don't understand how this happened o_o
It happened because lots of people have gold whereas very few people sell EMP.
Also some people will get desperate and try to outbid other buying EMP at the same time- enough people do this and the rate just keeps going up. Then there's the ones with so much gold they just don't care what the rate is and buy high regardless....
Yeah, supply and demand. Lots of gold rich players competing for scarce quantities of EMP... and the EMP sellers obviously want to make as big a profit as possible. When you have people in the game holding onto millions of gold, they basically get to buy what they want and control the prices of those items. Then they buy, and turn around and sell the items for even more.
Gold had lost its value dramatically due to being generated easily for extended periods with little of it being removed.
Ohh yeah, I remember the days of TAR spamming and GG paying out hundreds of gold... the good old days.
I know that all led to major inflation, and was probably a bad thing for the game's economy overall... but fast forward to now, people who don't have any gold are finding it next to impossible to keep up with those who do. I wish they had done a better job of removing gold instead of just putting a major damper on legitimate ways of earning it.
Gold is actually extremely easy to earn right now.
Okay, in fairness, I'm not currently in "farming mode" so I may have been misinformed. But it's my understanding that, in the current game... open world gold drops are practically non-existent. Instances like Ghillieglade no longer drop any gold at all. Other means of earning gold have been nerfed or eliminated altogether to combat bots and inflation. And in the latest patch, the gold rewards for VGs were cut in half. Does that sound about right? I mean sure, you can still farm VGs for MWA and sell it, but that's not actually "creating" gold, just as buying enchanting mats to +15 gear isn't actually "sinking" gold. Are there still viable ways to "farm" gold in the game without farming the broker?
