Edit: I answered the question.

It was basically does the previous season winners get their rank 1 rewards.

    Just worried that the fact that my guilds hard work in the previous season wont be rewarded.

    Yeah, your question answered itself given that you received the items, but yes -- this only impacts the winners of this coming Crusade season (starting now), and not the one that just finished.
