I'm a gunner, level 46 and have the level 44 Dervish Blaster avatar weapon.
And I haven't played this toon in a while.
Now I'm starting over again to pick up relics for the same weapon.
Huh? Not that it really matters, but what?
I've seen other things on other toons like skipping a weapon. Rather than finishing relics for one weapon, it starts collecting relics for the one after that and I have a wait a while longer.

It's like they changed the internal ids for the avatar weapons and the system forgot that I have this 44 Gun and wants it again.

    I've seen these kinds of things too. Seems BHS would rather and more bugs than fix the ones we already have.

    Its not a bug u hit a lvling cap and have started gathering the next one for your lvl and it has been like this for a long time.

    i find it easy to out lvl a avatar weapons collection range . with current leveling event and if using buddy up code + 100% xp scroll Stack elite on top and lvling is stupidly easy.

    if your to far ahead of your gear just do a kumma bg and buy correct gear from battle ground merchant in velcia . i generaly have my next lvl full set of +9 equipment long before i need them in inventory and on a plus note BG weapons can be converted to feedstock unlike avatar weapons u can only sell to npc now.

    You might have been mistaken by the wording, it IS a bug. OP is collecting relics for the EXACT weapon he already has. I have a time where I am collecting for two different relic weaps at once, and that is normal from entering another level floor.

    OP has enough time to complete current Avatar, relics for the next Avatar will start dropping after Lv48.

    Yes, this bug was introduced at the time they changed the avatar weapons to no longer convert back to feedstock when dismantled. At that time, if you already had an avatar weapon equipped, it basically "reset" your progress. It may be some sort of consequence of the change to the item properties (so that technically behind the scenes they're separate IDs?). The bug will resolve itself once you get to the next tier, and you'll be fine from that point forward. It won't matter whether you complete the previous tier again or not.
