I have noticed that too! With max HtL stacks, my CR bumps up to +245. Either way, I too am happy with the buffs to lancers. I just wanted input from others on the lack of crits at times on spring attack, but truthfully, more on wallop. :chuffed:
Also, I try to incorporate Onslaught with the use of shield bash for faster cast. Its great to see all the crits, but sometimes a bit saddening when the last few hardest hitting hits have the be block canceled.
I used to main lancer for a long time and have MCHM title on them, full VM sets, etc. I slowly was drawn to Warrior and stopped playing Lancer altogether when Brawler came out because tanking became too easy and not really a challenge. Lancer has changed a little since then, but it's not like I don't know what I'm talking about. It's always been possible to hold aggro without a heavy crit build. You shouldn't estimate someone's skill and knowledge by their gear.
I'm one of the lancers who played back then quite a bit but not during mchm days. I know what it was like to tank in dungeons like schm, aihm, brhm, rehm when keeping aggro was real lol. The aggro system was different back then and we had to use a lot of aggro stuff. I remember using full attack speed build but then slowly switching to hybrid aggro/speed/crit build for better at aggro because full speed wasn't helping me later on. It was fun tanking back in the days when bosses would push like kuma. I remember getting tshm kuma 3 minutes few weeks before brawler patch hit and it requires really good tanking on lancer and managing aggro against +15 skilled dps. I only lost aggro when boss hit 1 percent hp left. Back then lancers would lose aggro no matter how good they were because given the aggro system wasn't as how it should be. We lancers had to work our rear ends off to keep aggro and it was fun for me as well. Not many lancers played back then because either it was too hard for them to keep aggro or they just gave up the class till new buffs came lol. Back then you can tell which lancers are skilled.
When new changes came to lancer slowly, starting at brawler patch last year, I slowly had to re-adjust my play going from aggro/crit build to pure crit build. Since I was already a dps lancer from the old days, I was able to adjust pretty quickly. It is definitely easier to keep aggro but I feel there are other areas now that tanks are judged these days due to the changes we received. So not just keeping aggro but things like how much dps we contribute to the team, positioning, team debuffing/buffs to team and etc just to name a few.
