SF +15 vs conflate +12 weapon in PvP VM8 patch?

Gloves are the only thing that I'm 99% sure conflate will be BiS. Conflate Chest will probably be barely better, too, since they nerfed PvP % roll to 9 (-3% from current). At best, you can roll either a situational 6.9% damage reduction or 6% healing bonus on the VM8 chest. Of course, if you PvE as well, VM8 chest is probably the better choice. It'll be close, but the Conflate chest is way more consistent with the damage reduction.

Boots, however, favor VM at +15, thanks to the sick Crit Resist Factor, and Weapon will probably be better, too, thanks to the extra roll and stronger attack modifier + 5% buff it's going to get.

So it'l probably be 2 Conflate, 2 VM8 +15, and VM8 Belt as the BiS gear.

@NikoJimz They didn't nerf the PvP % roll on conflate chest, 9% is just what it is before masterwork, everything in the doc is non-masterworked. The line is still 12%.

@Palochi I believe the reason why Starfall gloves did more damage for you, is because you didn't have much (or any) +PvP attack from other sources.

Conflate gloves are better when you have high PvP attack, but Starfall is better when you do not, because of diminishing returns.

It's also why naked tests aren't a fair representation of conflate damage/defense.

Currently, BiS is a mix of Starfall and Conflate, due to this.

I see..
Maybe if i stop being lazy ill get SF Gloves to test with Conflate Weapon, because the weapon we tested with on his whole gear was +15 SF.
The results were always the same even trying a lot of ways to test it; besides the weapon..i didnt find ppl with 2 weapons to do something like that, both gloves were easier to find.
Do you have a test that shows Conflate gloves being superior compared to SF?
(This is the gear my friend has -the one we tested the gloves with-)


Edit: I just had the chance to try Conflate gloves vs +15 Imp Gloves with Imp weapon, getting same power set buffs. Conflate did a bit more indeed..So i guess Conflate is better in certain situations.
That makes gearing even more complicated lol
I want to try it with Conflate weapon now to see how it will be, if you already have a test like that it would be nice and save me some time XD
We used 3 Imp 2 Conflate on Imp Gloves and 2 Imp 3 Conf for Conf Gloves, using Griefings the difference was a bit higher, without them Conflate did pretty much the same damage

I have high PvP attack and sf gloves does better dmg.... Marginally... But better...

No it's vm7 +15. So the highest PvP attack you can get.

Ya I know it's better for others too. I was disappointed it wasn't an upgrade after enchanting it.

Also my vm7 chest takes more dmg than my SF. Yet I've tested the plate classes and vm7 chest was an upgrade. They made it too hard to figure out BiS :c
