Revelation Online; you diggin' it?
I've been looking into the game, and it honestly looks quite promising. The character customization looks pretty neat and while not being as intuitive as Black Desert's, it's still above the average mmo's customization. The combat, as quoted by TheLazyPeon is "a mix between TERA and Black & Soul," which is good because the lack of action-based mmos is quite lacking. The game has some pretty good cutscences as well and is apparently quite story driven. The big concern is the Chinese version has some pay to win elements and low and behold, my.com is localizing it for western release. My concern with my.com doing it is they are known to not shy away from pay to win. Hopefully the game will deliver an impressive story and good combat, something most games either give one or the other on.

The main thing I can say after playing the Chinese version is the game runs really well even on max settings in crowded areas. I stayed at the capped 60 fps 100% of the time, with it only dropping if I ever alt tabbed. The game does have some weird issues with alt tabbing in full screen windowed mode.
Personally, I could live with some P2W elements as long as it's not going into "big whale" digits (thousands of dollars per month). But I'm a casual only and due to my little free time, it would take me months to level. As far as I've seen, Revelation is more for players with "more free time".
Actually they have a system in place for those without much time.. The Inn.. http://revelation-online.com/index.php/2016/09/14/hot-springs-inn-gives-players-spa-treatment/
Whether the hype remains and RevO (not using the RO acronym because it belongs to the king already - Ragnarok Online) will get a huge player database or the hype will disappear as fast as it appeared the time will show. But there was a few titles already which were so much hyped about and people eventually left them comming back to their old games.
Just look at BNS, even BDO is slowly crawling that way.
Their ultimate goal is to fish out a bunch of whales that they will suck out as long as possible, while the game will suffer and normal players wont stand a chance to get anywhere by simply playing it.
Plus the players outside their countries are always ignored and showered with all sorts of restrictions, hitting a wall if you dont have a fat wallet or no life.
Revelation isnt going to be any different.
You can't say it will be the same until having tried it. False accusations like these kill a game for some people before the beta even arrived. Just wait for closed and open beta, play the game. Is it p2w? Good you were right, now get lost. If it isn't? Stay and see if you enjoy the game. I myself won't care about it to much since .. hey .. 'tera and emp' . I will already like it due to the housing and RP aspects, I just want people to not have this dumb BNS and BDO view. Yes I also am suspicious but at least I'm not badmouthing it before even trying it or having seen actual ingame cashshop items or such. Not to mention ANYONE can exchange ingame currency to cashshop currency to buy those items. Its just a thing of 'who has more time' , which was also a thing in BDO alot so..
tl:dr : give it a chance, don't go super negative , I myself am careful, yet looking forward and will try see to get as much info from the beta. If its bad, we all move on to bless online, Lost Ark or I don't know what other game in the future.
Nah no accusations here, just a simple observation and some years of experiencing this over and over.
I would like to find an mmo to call home instead of being like a nomad wandering from one to another and making these hype topics every year.
We'll see by the end of next month whether or not it got overhyped so until then .. just try find a place to call home and try it out.
Indeed, it all depends on the publisher...even if the game is awesome if the publisher sucks it will get destroyed by bad decisions like we seen so many times.
I have'nt cought a glimpse of wich publisher will bring Revelation to NA/EU, but i dont have any hopes honestly.
I like the idea it copies stuff from other games...it does'nt necessaryly has to be original if the stuff we seen in many mmos works, it can be fun.
Honestly i dont understand why many mmos dont do this more often, instead of becoming a niche or being limited to one idea, why not have more of the stuff that works in other mmos.

I know its not fair to judge a game before its released, but been there seen that so many times, hard to stay positive.
For now Tera is my "home", well partially atleast, because i feel i would like to try something else, but all of these mmos end up the same way.
If BHS stoped with this infinite gear cycle rubbish and done something with the world and filled it with fun stuff, Tera would be ideal.
There's also the issue of, as mentioned by others, the publisher having a good chance at ruining the game. My.com is not known for being particularly non-p2w. EME, however, has always remained pretty balanced in that aspect, up until the P2W dinosaur fiasco. I guess we'll see how My handles that game, and how fluid the combat feels. I'm pretty excited that we finally have a potential "action" MMO that keeps the classic trinity intact, whether or not it turns out to be any good. The trend GW2 caused for MMOs to not include healers has been pretty infuriating for those of us that like maining them. I have hope for this one so far despite its publisher. ._.
