sshm question

i've seen some gameplays of people doing sshm. and at the 3rd boss they seem to keep their hp at 20-30%?
why do they do that?
its so creepy though, 1 hit and you're dead :(

  • They were probably going for high score attempts and by doing that, using a slaying setup (slaying crystal on weapon). In order to use slaying, HP has to be under 50 percent. And yes 1 or 2 hits would be fatal.

To be using a slaying setup, it is good for people who are already experienced enough to know what the boss will do next and its mechanics, have great synergy with their party and also know their class inside/out. The room for error is very minimal.
