Is it worth to make priest/mystic as first character?

Hello guys, I'm new at this game and im thinking about creating my first character as a mystic or as a priet. is it worth it? I don't have any friends to play with so Idk if I could solo everything, afterall they are support oriented

Could anybody also tell me about the differences between prist/mystic? Which one seems better for a new player?

Thanks a lot :)

There's very little solo content, and even the ones that are available are actually easy. The game is mostly focused on 3+ groups, and being a healer (or tank) means you get into groups quicker.

Priest heals in little circles where as Mystic heals in a straight line, lock on or through motes. Regarding their heals, Priest has more heals to use but Mystic's individual heals tend to be superior to that of Priest. Mystic also gets to heal from further away, in addition to motes being able to be placed down anywhere on a short cool down which is useful in the current end game dungeon. (motes from Mystic also cleanse)

When it comes to offensive support, they are fairly similar aside for the fact Priest gives the group a little more power and attack speed while Mystic provides more crit factor (chance to crit). Priest also has a slightly better endurance debuff (means dps does more damage to the target), how ever it lasts much shorter than the one Mystics have; 12 seconds vs 21 seconds. When it comes to their offensive buffs, Mystics use auras where as Priest has to actually rebuff the target every time they die. Mana support wise, Priest is better at giving mana to cloth classes. Metal/Leather classes have a lower mana pool than cloth classes, and Priest's Mana Charge gives Cloth classes higher mana where as Mystic's does not.

Defensive support is the only area priest wins, as Priest offers higher endurance through buffs, although endurance isn't really relevant at the moment... and through Kaia's Shield. Although, Mystic more than makes up for the lack of defensive support by being better at staying alive themselves, and having Vow of Rebirth. Both Priest and Mystic have the ability to buff themselves that allow them to freely revive if they die, however, the Priest can only use it on themselves while Mystic can give the buff to themselves and two party members (themselves and 3 members if you glitch). Priest is better at chain reviving though, due to lower cool down and I believe their animation being better as well.

As for themselves, Mystic is better at staying alive due to being able to teleport every ~4 seconds, and being able to stay out of combat unless they get hit or a mechanic forces them to enter combat. Being in combat means you run slower, Mystics support abilities do not put them in combat while Priest's Triple Nemesis (their endurance debuff) puts them in combat. Although, Priest does have higher in combat move speed with a glyph.

As for which is better when you're new, while leveling a Priest is easier to level than a Mystic, as Mystic has limited heals at early levels, although at level 65 I personally find Mystic to be better even if you're new due to the better safety and range. Mystic also tends to be better at soloing as well. Ultimately it all depends on which set of skills you like more, I prefer playing my Priest personally despite the fact for ages Mystic has been the dominant healer.

I'd like to add one more thing, the evasive skill.

For mystic it is called Jaunt and teleports you, meaning you are in an invincibility state for the lenght of the jaunt and a very little timeframe after that. It moves you forward 18m.

For priest is it the skill called Backstep which moves you backwards, but it gives a longer i-frame, therefore easier to use than jaunt in most of the mechanics.

And if you decide which one you will main, you should read up some guides as they really help a lot, because if you are dead in a party, it is a dead party :)

    Priest: https://forums.enmasse.com/tera/discussion/119

And in my opinion yes it is worth it if you like supporting roles and healing roles, because the lock-on heals and action combat makes it a much more challenging role than in other games.
But later when you get more used to the game I would definitely recommend that you level a dps or tank class as well for farming purposes.

    Thanks again guys.

One more question: Which server should I start? I like both PVE and PVP ( mostly PVE )
    thanks.

MT and TR are the more established servers for end game. MT has open world pvp while TR has no open world pvp. Although, most pvp is done through battleground, duels, or certain types of gvgs which are done on all servers, and battlegrounds are cross server. It just depends on whether you enjoy open world pvp or not, which usually doesn't happen other than during events or new class releases. If you play on TR I'll be able to help you though.
