Terable fps on a new gfx card

Havent played for a few months, decided its time to check Tera again...especially after getting a new gfx card, but i got blown away by absolutely terrible fps...basicaly unplayable and im not even talking about towns or dungeons, just running arround outside with noone arround i have 8-10fps.
Specs:
Intel 6500K 3.2 Ghz
16Gig DDR4 2133 Mhz
Msi RX 480 Gaming X 8GB Vram

I havent changed anything except the gfx card and was running Tera like butter before on my old radeon HD6670.
Setting everything to lowest option in graphics has no impact on fps, neither has fullscreen or windowed or different resolution.
Could this be a driver issue with my new gfx card?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks =)

i think it is because tera need cpu than gpu :3
  • hmm have you tried the optimization guides? it improves fps by a lot
  • Thanks for the advices.
Did the optimization, no impact whatsoever and like i said Tera was running smoothly on my old gfx and it was a radeon too.
Damit this card should outperform the old one, but its like 15-20 fps less, what the hell...
  • That is unfortunate. I almost have the same specs (i5 6600K, 16 GB 2400 DDR4 & MSI rx480 8GB running on windows 8.1) and when I opened tera for the first time, it ran flawlessly without any tweaks. I was getting around 100-150 fps in town at first and this concerned me that I had to put a FPS cap limit.

It's possible something else may be the problem if the video card driver is good; hard to really tell. I can't remember off the top of my head which video driver I have, will have to look when I get home later today.

In the meantime, I'd check a couple of things if it hasn't been done yet:

-Run a stress test on videocard (something like 3dmark) to make sure the video card is doing what it's supposed to. Or trying other games and if they do well, then the problem might be in Tera.
-Is tera added to windows defender as an exception.
-Making sure that the adobe flash settings are set to 10 mb instead of 100KB in the global storage panel
-Disabling intro screens as it helps reduce memory leak.
-If using s1engine tweak, search for "DisableATITextureFilterOptimizationChecks" and make sure it's set to false. Also anything that says something like AllowD3D10 or AllowD3D11, make sure they are false as well.

    Thanks feazeshero!
Well the card is doing fine on other games, for example im running Fallout4 on ultra with 4k texture mods @ 50-60fps + flora and grass mods, Witcher3 on ultra including max hair physics and hair antialiasing and have stable 60fps, Dark Souls 3 on max etc.
Tera is added as exception, my flash player is updated (though looking at the FP settings i cant find the setting anywhere in global storage).
Double checked drivers for all devices, no dice...same with ini tweaks, all set, intros disabled.
Really weird, my performance should be identical to yours.
  • Tera makes use of 2 cores only regardless of .ini tweaks for making it use more cores so those cores should be like 4Ghz+ for good performance.

Please read what i have written, i only changed my graphics card, before that the game was running smoothly on the same spec without any tweaks.
  • add tera to ANTIVIRUS AND WINDOWS DEFENDER EXCEPTION!!!
  • May be you should install latest drivers and check out this guide for improving fps in games https://graphicscardhub.com/increase-fps-frame-rate-games/
