Real armor for Heals

Since all of these classes are being updated slowly but surely, allow me take some time and put in my two cents. I have been playing mmo's for years, Tera being the #1 mmo to me since i started a long long time ago. I decided to be dps of course when i first started, it was fun and entertaining but I found myself bored after a couple of years. So I then switched to Priest, OH WHAT FUN :D ! But the one thing that i hate is cloth armor. WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO WEAR A PIECE OF SILK AGAINST A 50 STORY DRAGON? So i guess my point is why did you make healers, one of the most important roles in the game so fecking weak? If your going to take their ability to do any dmg away, then compensate by making their armor just below that of a tank. So with this updating of old classes why not make a change for the better and give healers (Heavy robed armor) and let them actually focus on healing instead of running from the one shots.

Having low defense is a part of what makes a healer "fun". I promise you'll find healing less fun if you could just stand there and tank all the hits to heal/cleanse yourself a second later. Then healers would never die and be way too op. :confounded:

Well, you could say, as in many fantasy settings, that magic is better channeled through cloth instead of wearing heavy pieces of armor.

Yes having a low defense makes healing challenging, but only in the sense of survival. And Im not talking like make the healers gods, but at the moment one wrong step could end your fun and your parties. I dont want to stand in front of the boss obviously or i woulda chosen tank. Now im no slouch at healing, rocking my +15 imperator staff, +12 guile full set. I heal pretty well with 111k criticals on healing circle and 60-72k crit heals on focus heal. (46k base( on focus) 72k base( on healing circle)) But like anyone wearing a bathing suit to a shootout could tell you, it still only takes one bullet (Combat medics dont wear prada and gucci into war they wear tactical kevlar vests, kneeguards, elbow guards, helmets and have m16's etc etc) in comparison to said combat medic, the priest on tera is wearing a bikini, and a lolipop for a weapon, sure its sexy on the beach but in a life and death situation useless.. I simply wish to increase that 1 bullet to 2-3 bullets before killing me not having to rely on kaia's to save me and the pt from being a 6ft under get together. I mean if nothing else make it a priest only thing. I mean after all mystics have thralls to do their dirty work.
  • Also, a 1shot is always a 1shot regardless the armor type.
  • @CiberLugo see your taking it as the "bosses special move" that im talking about. No its the simple moves that are fast and sometimes unavoidable.
  • @natia Also how can a priest be op? They do little to no dmg, they got no armor. Are they going to heal you to death?
  • @kubitoid lol well played on a beach just not in a monsters gullet XD
  • Low armor for healing is like MMO 101. You can't have your cake and eat it!
  • and let them actually focus on healing instead of running from the one shots.
No, i just answer to that sentence.

  • 1. Healers always had paper armor in most (all) MMOs I've played. This is because - well, you can heal yourself. A soft armor will balance out your life-giving powers.
    2. Because of #1, healers are almost always forced to build endurance, or any defense-giving stat; basically because there's nothing else to build. Unlike DPS and tanks, you do not need Power, Crit, (in some other games) Dexterity, Agility, and all those stuff. In some games you need to build some sort of Intelligence/Wisdom to increase healing, but that is not the case in Tera. This will push you further towards hardening yourself. It has always been the healer mantra - "you're as soft as wet tissue paper, toughen yourself up so you can do a better job at healing!"
    3. As much as healers aim to harden themselves more, to take some hits and not die while doing their job (which sometimes require them to be in the line of fire), they weren't meant to wear steel armors. We have tanks for that.
    4. Have you ever seen priests or mystics in real life? Are they wearing metal? No.
  • Sad that the class is a priest n been known as wearing cloth/silk even in real life.
The class you looking for is something else like paladin/cleric/shaman etc

Well maybe ask for a shield n exchange in some moving speed= =
