Dear Enmasse
Dear Enmasse Team
I have been playing Tera for almost 4 years now and I can honestly say this Game still holds the trophy for the best MMO Action Gameplay. I have ever seen and played. I've seen Tera through the Good and the Bad. I was there when our Servers were Lake of Tears, Ascension Valley, Valley of Titan, Tempest Reach, Celestial Hill, and Mount Tyrannas. I was there when the crusade was first introduce. When Sky Castle came into play and you guys even made an adorable trailer for it. I was there when Tonka (Previous Community Manager) was making "Teach Me How to..." Video's. I was there when +12 was the highest any gear can reach. I was there when Reaper was first Introduce and level 60 was the Highest. I was there when "Awakening" first came into Tera and how truly unforgiving Awakening was to players. I was there when Generation (Vision Maker 4) Gear was the first gear to be Awakened and it was divided into 3 variation (Intense, Keen, Quick). I was there when Tera came into Steam and the influx of players prompted Enmasse to make "Highwatch Server". I was there when T.A.R. was the best way to make profit.
I been with Tera and the Enmasse for so long and I can honestly say I am so repulse and sad the action the Enmasse Team has been making this past year. With all the decision the Enmasse team has been making to Tera. With the broken Economics Collapse on the broker with Mongo Hunting. with no definitive answer to the problem rather just presenting us trinkets with make us quiet down for a moment, and the lack of proper maintenance in the game. With the Attack that Happen on the West Coast the lack of Stability in Servers and highly random Ping Drop and Increase I know the Enmasse Team did as much as they can to try and fix the problem. But to me, its not Enough.
Enmasse Team why are you so afraid of your community, why don't you truly trust your community ? Giving us these random gifts isn't fixing any problem, rather its creating more problems. We have Months of Lag and Server Issue and you give us free Elite. Why is giving free Elite always your go to answer to the community? Elite back in the day was rewarding and you felt stronger with it, it may have made the game a little easier but you knew that the money you were spending made it worth it. But now your just constantly giving it away to us. And to me I see that as a disrespect and a slap to your community. It shows abandonment to your community. Enmasse if you really care about your community and the people playing then please listen to your community. Giving Elite so that a few people who aren't Elite can be happy isn't the way to go. In fact those people who are happy to be Elite doesn't truly make up your true Community. Your True Community are the ones who are Elite Subscribe already on a monthly basis, who participate in forum discussion, who help out your Community Team and Spacecats. Enmasse if you really care about your community and truly trust them then I ask and Implore you to Shut Down Tera for a certain amount of Time (week or maybe even a month) and fix the problem.Fix the problem in your servers with the lag issue, the ping drops and increase, and the random bugs. And when its truly fix, bring Tera back up. And there you will see who returns to your game, because I can tell you right now. If you take this action not only will you see your true players and community come back to you with a new found of respect and adoration but will eventually increase your players. A New Year is about to begin Enmasse, make this year for Tera a memory filled with happiness and joy for both you and your community not a year of hatred and anger.
I know I'm just a nobody but I wanted this to be said. If you've taken time to read this I wanna say thank you.

I agree that there are some problems that need to be addressed, but yeah, if big papa bluehole won't even let eme do a simple dragon event the way they want because they think it'll impact sales, I really doubt they'll be like "yeah just shut the game down for a week, or a month, or however long you need, and while you're not bringing in any money and your player base are leaving in droves for other games in the meantime, hire a bunch of people to help make the game shiny and new again." It's a massive risk, and even though I've found myself occasionally wishing for something similar, it'll never happen.
That being said, could we get an event that brings people back? Please? Even just bringing back kyra's potion shop with mostly garbage accessories would be great if you mixed in a nice scarf here or there. Or maybe an event that brings back the old bruiseweave stole, since there hasn't been a way to get that in almost 2 years. Something fun and wintery. Anything, really. Harrowhold's a great way to tide people over until you realize that like 90% of the community can't even get into the raids. Something fun for the rest of us would be great. Santas were a nice start, but they're only active in the weirdest part of the day, when anyone with a day job in the west is offline, and anyone in EU is about to sleep (probably). If I could hunt santas 24/7, I'd be content. It doesn't take much to keep me happy. Just something to get my friends and guildies to log in again would be A+.
As someone who works in a data center thats not how it works ..
Care to elaborate? OP suggested shutting it all down for an unknown time period to fix the bigger issues the game has. If you really think EME can just shut everything down for an undetermined amount of time to fix deep and longstanding issues without losing a ton of money/players and pissing off their Korean owners, then I'd be interested to hear your ideas.
Anyway, it's fine just as a statement of "I'm not satisfied" -- which I don't think anyone is.
Most of the issues aren't related to Tera. EME is not the only business being impacted. Earlier the east coast entirely had problems all together with many businesses being down for several hours at a time. This is why people had issues connecting to Tera and logging in for a while that day. There's a mixture of routing issues and attacks at various entities that have an impact on how a person connects to Tera depending on their region. The Western world is so heavily reliant on the internet for many things now a days, and it has little security, so naturally it was eventually going to be a target for mass issues. It's already been advised for 2017 that business/people have back-ups in case the internet is ever down for an extended period.
Usually a server having issues would impact everyone, but usually it's only some people being impacted, while others aren't. So, shutting down the servers to essentially fix nothing solves nothing.
EME can't fix routing issues on their own unless they become a provider of their own, but they are too small for that, and they certainly can't fix attacks that are targeted at another corporation.
You also should mention tha EME can't fix the internet problems for every individual.
I feel like I'm in bizarro world or something. I wasn't asking about routing issues; I already know that EME is limited in what they can and cannot fix.
OP said EME should shut it all down to fix stuff.
I told him that wasn't a feasible solution from a business standpoint.
Then this other guy shows up, says he works for a data center, and says that "that's not how it works." I asked him to elaborate, since shutting down your servers seems like a bad business decision to me and I'd be interested to see why "that's not how it works," because apparently Mr. Data Center thinks it's possible to SHUT IT ALL DOWN and come out just fine or something, and now you're telling me about routing issues.
Like I legit feel like I'm not speaking English or something.
You're saying they won't due to money, when they won't because it's not the issue. They do bring them down when needed, but it simply isn't.
