Gathering Limitations

So, I was gathering in the low level area, fey forest, and found after a bit that it wasn't working anymore. The character still tried to gather, and appeared to succeed, but it would say 'no benefit' to the gathering skill, no increase, AND there would be nothing gathered, no bump to the qty of material in inventory.

Is this a glitch or something I am doing wrong?

    yeah they patched the gathering a few years ago and added this BS pp system. It happened right when they introduced the etching profession.

    It's Production Points, gathering and crafting use the the points. It is shared between your characters, and only 4,000 points can be saved max. You gain some points overtime. You can view your PP if you open the crafting window, J by default. Crafter's Cure restores 1,000 points, otherwise you would need multiple accounts.

    You get back pp over time. Try gathering the next day if you have run out.

    While you are gathering something it should tell you the pp cost and how many pp you have left.

    The no benefit to gathering skill message can appear if you are gathering low level materials that aren't hard enough to raise your current gathering skill, but it should still increase the amount in your inventory (unless you have run out of pp)

    sorry man but the golden age for gathering and crafting is dead, i remember in the past we could dismantle armor and weapon to get crafting materials, it was the good old time ;)

    You have Production points, a total of 4000, and each gather drains 25. If you're elite you can use a Crafter's Cure to restore them, if not you just have to wait (A day or two) for them to fill back up.


    Edit:PS, in case it wasn't clear, they don't have to be completely full for you to begin using them again.

    Hate to say it, but this game has pretty much peaked. It's been tanking steadily for a while now.
