2017: Why would a medieval healer in the back wear only cloth?
2050: Why did the so-called Elite soldiers in 2017 only wear helmets and a kevlar vest? They got shot on the leg and grenade splinters into their faces. Full kevlar-armor and force-field is the minimum standard.
Perhaps you're not aware that armor is heavy and requires physical training. Besides that, a boss fight in Tera is exactly what the armor depicts. The Tank is holding aggro and keeping the boss in place as good as can. The healers, range damage dealers move from side to side and have to be very light-footed. Also, they are not expected to get hit by the boss.
I seem to remember that they use to be..... thanks to their buffs, having 2 iframes, decent damage, and self healing they where one of if not the most complex duelist in the game but also one of the bests once mastered.
that might have changed but you cant deny they have a very well rounded kit even with just cloth armor.
