Server and BuddyUp Question

I've got a 65 on Fey Forest, and I've read through the BuddyUp guide, but I'm still unclear on a few things.
  • My wife wants to start playing, but we were considering starting characters on a different server. Will the BuddyUp code work on other servers?
  • If I play with my wife as a same-level character, to whom are the benefits of the "BuddyUp" code conferred?
  • We were thinking TR or CH, since she's not a PvP fan. As English-speaking players in the Eastern Time Zone, is either preferable?

    1. Buddyup for your character "Bozanimal" that lives in MT will not work if you try to redeem the code on say TR or whatever, but if you both make the character on the same server it will.
    2. Both parties benefit from the code the donor gets fun rewards and useful things (Including a mount at lvl 65) and the recipient gets exp bonus.
    3. TR is more populated but CH is more laid back, so make that choice based on how you feel.

    It tells me I have to have at least a Level 40 character in order to generate a Buddyup code, so it looks like we can't both create a new character on the same server. Thanks for all the other info, though!
