When posting about high ping, it would help to know where you're connected from. Since En Masse is the North American publisher for TERA, it will be very hard to control connections outside the US, but knowing your location might give us something to work with.

I play from Europe, The Netherlands to be exact. About 85% of the time, I average around 120ms - 150ms. I, too witness the ping spikes and lag issues. First time it ever happened was last week. Ping fluctuated shot up to about 500ms and once to 1200ms, and then it played around 127ms, 144ms, 250ms. I know that playing from outside NA comes with additional +60 - +90ms. But even then it should never be this bad.

  • My ping at university last term was 40-60 (near the LA area in California) I went home for break and when i come back, my ping is in the 150-180 range. This is not even a spike, its just "stable" at this ping for no apparent reason.

If you could post your traceroute as above, that would most likely explain why. Probably you are now taking a less efficient route to the server for whatever reason.
