Solutions and Suggestions for En Masse vol. 2
So with the upcoming patch this Tuesday, I wanted to try asking around the community once again and see how everyone feels with the state of TERA and offering up ways to improve the quality of this game. With that said I am well aware that EME is simply the publisher for TERA and all things ultimately are up to BHS *cough DRAGONS cough*, but they also share a voice as this community is also where a good chunk of their revenue comes from. So here's hoping we can reach some plausible solutions, and be heard accordingly.
On Dec.16th, 2016 @Spacecats introduced us to @Noesis (hey) in a Twitch stream, and we were given a ballpark idea for when the Lunar Dancer class in Late March. Given that the class was only released on Dec. 22nd, 2016, the ball park range is roughly 3 months away from original release date.
It's not a guarantee, but considering this and Broken Prison on Tuesday, it seems as if we're being rushed in progression and dwindling the worth and current BiS gear. And this does lead me to asking about a how we are progressing and where we are going.
1. With the current gearing system, new players are coming in and starting off from Lv1 and making their way to Lv65, between Lv1 and Fresh Lv65 (Idoneal gear) players are managing tier 1 to tier 5 gear, feed and alkahest. But the gear after Idoneal (T5) is currently Slaughter (T9) gear. This essentially leaves a Fresh 65 with virtually nothing. Is anything going to be done to help ease that gap for new coming players or alts?
Something I'd personally love to see is a rework of gear tiers, and the conversion rates for lower tier gear. We have Tier 11 gear, but it's Vm8 and Vm8.5, VM9 plans have already been in the works so we'll have Tier 12 and Tier 13 (VM10) gear and feed to deal with soon. Could we possible make tiered gear for lower levels be something like: Lv1-39 = T1; Lv40-59 = T2; and Lv 60-64 = T3, then arranging the following tiers based on a model of Tier = VM# + 2 or something similar? Or make all Feed conversions 2:1 from the start.
2. Since we're gaining content at a much quicker pace (reiterating), being competitive is quickly becoming a diehard farm for scarce materials and extremely rare designs. It also means a lack of effort for easier dungeons just to later do the same dungeon but in Hard Mode.
Suggestion would be outright ridding "Normal" versions of Dungeons, and increasing the worth of their current Hard Mode. Currently a run in RMHM grants 1 (or 2) Lady's Hankerchief and 1 Envy Crystal, (this topic is ongoing elsewhere, but it ties into the idea for future builds), what if the mat drops could be 50% for a Hankerchief and 100% for the Crystal, but when they drop all party members receive it on pick up.
The idea of an MMO is progression with your peers, so how about a more uniform progression rewarding the party instead of the individual as this can lead to unnecessary stress and drama.
3. Finally, and this is more of a NA issue due to the distance of severs to each player, it's understandable that Elite Subscription is meant to be more of a catch me up and way to get in more runs than the rest (gotta make the money somewhere), but with the unannounced and terrible result of previous Instance Reset Scrolls not working for the current new dungeons, and likely to continue moving forward, we surfer periods of massive lags, disconnects, Doxxing, and a multitude of problems that impede our progression.
Could it be made where the current Instance Reset and Elite Reset Scrolls be removed, for a universal x2 entry on both fronts? Non-Elite can enter RMHM 2x, and Elite can enter 4x, individual dungeon reset scrolls can remain as an event thing, and Veteran Reset Scrolls reworked to work on all (Veteran Reset Scrolls only come in the form as an apology due to severe issues, so they should always be able to function)
... ... ...
In the end, I hope these things can possibly be addressed, worked on, and/or sought after. But I do know there are various other things the rest of community would love to hear about, ask about, suggest. So hoping to hear those discussions as well.

Dungeons like RMHM and the challenging dungeons, should have a permanent double drop, that way it will feel rewarding to do them, or simply add something worth the time of all 5 players.
As far as for Elite, on the last Stream, EME mentioned that they are gathering feedback for a complete rework of the Elite status, to match more the current state of the game. Since we are talking bout Elite, i would suggest this changes (i made another list in the past, but i cant find it nor i remember what i wrote on it):
- Elite mount: Replace the current one for a Flying mount, with buffs and everything. One of the Flying Lions would be ok i suppose.
- Elite Exp Booster/Rep Booster: No changes needed.
- Elite Gold Boosters: Since the release of Vanguard quests, Community has been crying out loud for this to work with Vanguard quests. Now is an almost useless feature because it simply does not work with these daily quests.
- Double daily quests: Speaking of the change needed above, one of the main catches of Elite in the past was this together with the gold booster. This is useless now because the old dailies do not give the same amount of gold they did before. Either remove completely this feature, or make it work with Vanguard Quest too.
- Elite Consumable box: Needs and overhaul. Crafting potions are not as needed as before, so remove those and make the peddler in velika sell em for way cheaper (5k gold is too much for an item anyone hardly uses). 500 gold would be fine. I do not think i need to repeat what everyone said about the cooldown on Bravery pot. Last but no least, Elite reset scrolls. Since the patch this do not work anymore. They either need to get fixed, or removed completely and replaced with something else much more useful.
- Elite Daily Gift Box: changes were made, but are not enough it seems. I would encourage to look into its current loot table to re introduce some popular items people loved, like Felicity, and remove troll items like Apothecary dye, cause that is so cheap in the broker, it should also be removed from the shop. We get a lot of em from opening loot boxes anyways.
- Adding back the Elite monthly gift would be also a nice addition. Just please, do not make the same mistake again (Jewel boxes)
The rest i can leave it to EME to add more value to current elite status, provided they are supposed to know best what we players want and expect from Elite.
crafters cure are not useless they are used for gathering too...
Exactly, I have no idea what gap op is talking about.
I think this is a good idea. What's the point of having flying available in older zones if most players never get a flying mount until the freebie at 65? Perhaps EME has metrics that show they make a lot of money from first-timers buying flying mounts on their way to 65, but i doubt it. If its not a big source of income, they should add it to elite status to encourage ppl to sub and help people enjoy 1-65 more (and maybe a few more actually make it to the endgame).
Because you could just fly over the dangerous mobs during leveling ...
#2 this seems to prevent what you want. the issue i see here is "not enough drops", so you want to reduce drop rate so if it drops, you all share?
In my oppinion there is more underlying trouble to the "not enough drops", like how most of the stuff already gets rolled for us without us noticing, how gear dismantling was a much nicer reward than petty feedstock, ...
Anyway, if like your example hankerchief only drops 50%, well then you have double as much runs that werent worth it for you personally. also for reserved hankie parties, this would mean you have to run RMHM 2x more. cuz what was supposed to be 15 runs of giving player A that piece, is now uncertain. even though in your example there should be 2.5x more hankerchiefs in total, in your personal experience it might not feel like that. but making it 100% drop still would make it too easy to get VM for elitist under us.
3# I still can't think of a solid reason why the new dungeons dont get to be reset... so this solution seems like the next best thing!
Elite could very well use an overhaul, and i agree with the other suggestions. I would like to add to the gold quest booster, that it doesnt even need to be 100% boost, since the current gold rewards are already higher than what i remember from the old daillies, but any bit of boost is a welcome elite feature (say somewhere near 25%-50%)
On topic of the crafter's cure: in my hopes, crafting and gathering will get a revamp and become usefull again. I remember an interview in which they told us they are looking into proper player and guild housing, so who knows, thats where it'll come in use. Either way, PP was introduced to stop botting. selling an item that essentially gives unlimited PP (if bought and used in bulk) utterly defeats the purpose of PP, besides a small gold sink maybe... however i do agree that as an elite reward it is near worthless, so it should be nice to look for a perhaps better way to introduce Crafters cure into Tera
This reminds me that I wanted to write a guide how to organize inventory.
I would totally not mind at all if they make crafting a housing exclusive, in fact, I want it to be that way. If its anything like the Hearthfire DLC from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, I'm all for it. I would very much like to craft my very own tiny shack in a piece of land nearby Lumbertown
Or BHS can remove the whole "crafting system" to make room for another class next year, I don't know. One thing for sure we will not have housing, ever.
Re coding the game on a 64 bit system is possible and within BHS reach. Unfortunately such a task requires time and resources to do, resources as in money, and i doubt BHS current team will ever do something like that, even tho is possible and will vastly improve the performance of the game.
That is where housing comes into. TERA lacks an activity that can be done in between the usual dungeon farming. Most games will include in this type of activities things like Housing or Fishing, because those are things you can do in your spare time and still enjoy the game. Take for example the upcoming Housing system of ESO, which will have nearly 2000 items to build, mix and match, your house with. Thats a lot of hours spend just decorating, building, re decorating, till it becomes a circle. You arent happy with how things look, just move things, that is why Housing is so important in most MMOS. Similar activities are also welcome, like in the coming MMO Lost Ark, it will have TONS of activities to do if you are not doing any dungeon or hunting.
The problems with optimization really have nothing to do with being a 32-bit executable. There are plenty of extremely-optimized games with high-end graphics that are still 32-bit. The problem with cost and time remains all the same, but this isn't really the root cause, and it isn't a key limiting factor in things like housing or whatever other new content they may want to add.
