hi all, I'm new to tera and I'm after an MMO to put some hours into and enjoy.
tera looks amazing to be honest but I'm just a little concerned as the games is a good few years old now
1) is it worth me starting from fresh in 2017
2) what sort of player base is left for this game now? is it still active?
tera is among one of the better mmos but I never come across something to say its popular.

    1. it will take only 1~3 days to make lv65 now
    2. You can get lv 65 low tier slaughter gear in less than 1 hour. And, it's easy to MW and enchant +12
    3. You can get lv 65 mid tier Guile gear in one day. it will take about 1 week to get full +12. Easy.

    +12 Guile full set is good enough for all dungeons except HH, 30 men raid. Some people will ignore +12 for Pug RMHM. But, like +12 skilled healers are always welcome to any dungeons.

    it's definitely not what it used to be, but it does offer something pretty unique in terms of the combat. it's really up to you to decide if that makes it worth it for you to play or not, because that's basically all it has going for it.

    not really promising signs really.. if its going to take 20-30 minutes for a healer to get into a dungeon then I'm not really interested.. the combat does interest me but not as much as a healthy server.

    Nah it shouldn't (at least it doesn't in Celestial Hills server) take that long. Usually 2-8 minutes; But there are a lot of things you can do while waiting - like quests, Achievement hunting (which offers unique rewards), and soloing BAMs to level faster.

    1) Yes, Tera can even be played in 2017
    2) Tera is an MMO for casual players. Or course we also have some tryhards, but if you're planning to be online 24/7 and farming to progress, Tera is the wrong game for you.

    As said, the target group of Tera are casuals. So there is no "popular" in this as casuals usually dont build a large fan base like WoW. Also the players mainly consist of members of the society. This means, you will find many people online during EU and NA prime time. But you wont find many playing e.g. 3am PST/1200h CET because they are asleep, at school/work.
