I have seen some weird issues with servers. Anyone else?

Around 8:00 to 9:00 AM pst each day for the past 2 weeks, specially this week. I start getting very bad spikes, weird delays. Delays that varies between 3 to 10 secs. My route and ping from CMD doesn't show much problem but experience in game differs from that. Lag starts mostly at those times and everything executed after that delay. Before that I have 230 ms ping which is mostly stable, so I do fine but that starts. Also sometimes if I am off, I see that delay start at 11:00 to 12:00 PM pst. Are they pick time for DDOS? Anything to help me figure this.

Couple of my friends from India, had same issue, they stopped playing for now. And I can't really do much stuff rather small stuff.

Was wondering if anyone else has this problem? Ping in game spikes sometimes, but what I see is way way laggier than what ms ping shows. It is so weird and frustrating.

spikes is normal mode, wait for hard mode in peak hours we call it LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGG... GG sweety
  • When you are doing a traceroute, be sure to do it to diag.enmasse.com and not to the patch server. If you trace the patch server, it will tell you nothing because it's not at the same datacenter and runs on a CDN.

Either way, lag spikes at 8 or 9am PST is not really all that normal or common in this game. It tends to happen more in U.S. primetime. But if you are playing from overseas, there can be tons of factors that could get in the way.
  • My guildies have been getting weird lag spikes the last week, but I haven't. On the other hand, since a few hours ago, my ping has gone back to how it was more than a month ago, when the network issues were really bad for a lot of people.

It is around those times I mentioned. usually since it is not my ISP pick time and not even US, I was always OK. but recently it started and it last like 1 to 2 hours around the times I mentioned.

added: it must be me, but my ms ping in game doesn't spike much but my game has a delay, a delay which shows it self on some certain activity :anguished:
  • Now servers are all dead soooo no more worry's about lag spikes for now pppfftt..

The above post was from Diag tool, it is from CMD. My ping is above 500 in game but things even laggier than 500 ms ping.

The above screenshot shows that your ping problems are actually starting in Europe (in Frankfurt) long before it even gets to the U.S., so probably very little can be done except maybe try a VPN that will route you a different way around the globe. (And based on the times you indicated, those times correlate to prime time in Europe, so that further supports that Europe is probably the problem in this case for you.)

Posting my traceroute from today @ 1:33AM CET
It seems that @LesbianVi goes through one extra additional route through savvis, if I am not mistaken.
But even so it begins as early as the first IX-node in Frankfurt. My route goes through Germany as well, but mostly through Telia and then hop 11: Qwest (Centurylink) (I think from hop 10 and after I have reached the US) and savvis and then I reach the datacenter and finally diag.enmasse.com.

Yeah I noticed that, It is happening recently, I think the routing changed :bawling: living in damn Iran makes my options very limited. Soon I might change my ISP, hopefully that help.
