I was bored so I designed a Necromancer class.

The Necromancer is a unique damage and support class. While it doesn't boast the highest DPS, it offers sustained damage from mid to long range with some burst and significant party support. The Necromancer wears cloth and has some skills akin to a healer, but does not replace the healer role. The weapon is a tome. Because the Necromancer has many skills that cost HP, it is able to make efficient use of the Slaying crystal. Class difficulty: 5/5.

Skill list:

Lv. 1
"Blood Shard" - Fire a blood shard which explodes on impact or up to 20m away. Generates 5 Spectral Power on successful hit. Base Damage: 600

"Escape Death" - Quickly leap up and out of harm's way. Press a directional key (WASD) to control the direction of the leap. You can use "Escape Death" twice within 3 seconds, and you can change direction between leaps. CD: 7 sec

"Spectral Channeling" (Passive) - Spectral Power does not decrease for 60 seconds after a successful hit. Double Spectral Power gain when you attack a player. You can spend Spectral Power to use skills such as "Spectral Explosion", "Spectral Storm", "Spectral Shield" and "Blood Nova".

"One With the Dead" (Passive) - Prevent fatal damage by monsters. Consumes all remaining Spectral Power to recover 30% maximum HP. Will only activate once every 5 minutes.

"Cursed" (Passive) - Reduce all healing effects received by 30%.

Lv. 2
"Vampiric Curse" - Call upon a curse to inflict damage. A portion of the damage returns to you as healing (healing effect can be replaced with damage boost if glyphed). Press the skill button once and mouseover to lock on to 2 (3 if glyphed) targets within 18m, then press the skill button again or left-click to shoot at all targets. Generates 100 Spectral Power for each target hit. Base Damage: 1200; CD: 15 sec

Lv. 4
"Zombify" - Launch a damaging spell through a line of targets up to 18m away that briefly slows the targets' movement speed by 20% and endurance by 7% for 12 seconds. Generates 10 Spectral Power for each target hit. Base Damage: 700; CD: 7 sec

"Spectral Knight" - Summon a ghostly warrior that draws aggro from monsters and makes melee attacks. Lasts 3 minutes or until death. CD: 45 sec

Lv. 6
"Blood Bomb" - Blasts up to 5 targets within a 4m radius centered 10m in front of you. Inflicts bleed on targets dealing 400 damage every 2 sec for 10 seconds. Does less damage to other players. Generates 100 Spectral Power for each target hit. Base Damage: 2000; CD: 12 sec

Lv.8
"Corpse Bomb" - Summon a corpse from the ground which dives at a target and explodes on impact or up to 15m away. Generates 300 Spectral Power for each target hit. Base Damage: 5000; CD: 18 sec

Lv. 10
"Spectral Explosion" - Create a massive explosion of spectral energy within a 5m radius centered 10m in front of you with a high chance of stagger and knockdown. Cost: 1500 Spectral Power; Base Damage: 8000

Lv. 12
"Retaliate" - Leap to your feet while attacking your target, increasing your Spectral Power. You can use this skill only when knocked-down. You become briefly immune to knockdown, stagger, and stuns. CD: 15 sec

Lv. 14
"Poltergeist" - Summon a supernatural being from beneath a target within 12m in front of you. The target is immobilized for 6 seconds. Ends if target is knocked-down. Generates 50 Spectral Power on a successful hit and 10 Spectral Power every 2 seconds the target is immobilized. Base Damage: 1500; CD: 20 sec

Lv. 16
"Blood Ritual" - Sacrifice 25% of your maximum HP to immediately gain 750 Spectral Power. CD: 60 seconds.

Lv. 18
"Cursed Resurrect" - When dead group members lie within 3m, you can restore life to the nearest 1. The revived player will receive "Curse of the Damned", reducing their damage by 25% but increasing their HP and endurance by 120% for 60 seconds. Cast Time: 5.1 sec; CD: 40 sec

Lv. 22
"Blood Pact" - You and the 4 closest group members within 40m split all non-fatal damage received equally. Effect lasts 20 seconds (30 if glyped). CD: 120 sec

Lv. 28
"Blood Transfusion" - Sacrifice 25% of your maximum HP to restore HP to all group members within 15m and increase their power by 20 for 15 seconds. CD: 30 sec

"Cursed Bones" - Curse all targets within 5m of you dealing damage and confusing monsters. Players affected have their directional keys inverted for 3 seconds. Generates 50 Spectral Power for each target hit. Base Damage: 2400; CD: 12 sec

Lv. 34
"Spectral Storm" - Press the skill button once to target an area within 21m, then press the skill button again to summon a whirlwind of spirits for 5 seconds. Targets caught inside the whirlwind are prevented from using evasive and movement skills and have their movement speed reduced by 80%. Generates 100 Spectral Power every second targets are caught within the whirlwind. Cost: 1500 Spectral Power; Base Damage: 7000; CD: 90 sec

Lv. 40
"Spectral Shield" - Create a shield that absorbs up to 30,000 damage for 45 seconds. Immune to knockdown and stagger while shield effect is up. Effect ends when it reaches damage limit. Cost: 750 Spectral Power; CD: 60 seconds (48 if glyphed)

Lv. 46
"Blood Fiends" - Call upon bloodthirsty fiends 12m in front of you for 10 seconds, grasping at all targets in an 8m radius. Slows targets by 10% per hit. Effect stacks up to four times. Base Damage: 10000; CD: 26 sec

Lv. 52
"Necrosis" - Infect one target within 18m with Necrosis. The Target cannot be purified. Enemies within 3m of the target become feared for 3 seconds. Press the skill button once and mouseover to lock on to a target within 18m, then press the skill button again or left-click to apply. Afflicted target takes 12000 damage every 2 seconds for 12 seconds and all healing effects received are reduced by 30%. Does less damage to players. CD: 120 sec

Lv. 58
"Blood Nova" - Deal damage to all enemies around you within 12m with a very high chance to crit. You are invulnerable while using this skill. Cost: 1500 Spectral Power; Base Damage: 18000; CD: 180 sec

Lv. 61
"Blood Barrier" - Create a barrier of blood to evade enemy attacks. Lasts 3 seconds and affects group members. CD: 5 min (4 if glyphed)

Lv. 65
"Immolation" - Sacrifice 1% of your maximum HP every 2 seconds to increase the damage for you and all group members within 40m by 12%. While in effect you cannot use "Blood Ritual" or "Blood Transfusion". Generate 50 Spectral Power every 2 seconds.

"Blood Sacrifice" (Passive) - While "Immolation" is in effect, increase the damage of "Spectral Explosion", "Spectral Storm" and "Blood Nova" by 25%. While below 30% of your maximum HP, increase your power by 50, Crit Factor by 50, and attack speed by 12%.

@kedros - You were right about the class having too many long CD skills, so I made a few adjustments. The class has far more high damaging skills than mystic. While it does borrow some concepts from Mystic, it also borrows from Sorcerer, Ninja, and Gunner.
Edit:
    * Reduced the cooldown of "Blood Bomb" to 12 seconds. * Added new Lv. 8 skill "Corpse Bomb". * Removed the cooldown of "Spectral Explosion". * Added new Lv. 28 skill "Cursed Bones".

    Isn't that pretty much overpowered?

    I don't believe so.

Blood Nova is an ultimate with 3 min CD akin to Balder's Vengeance but will do less damage (once BV is buffed as it was in KTera recently)
Passive resurrection is fair since the class will deal optimal damage only when below 30% HP. The class is cloth and squishy. Besides, every new class has this mechanism.
Blood Barrier has a really long cooldown (2 min longer than ninja smoke bomb). The only other iframe is their "Escape Death" (7 sec) and Blood Nova (3 min)
  • Double iframe, special resource, 5 min cd anti-death skill, iframe that affects the party, and massively OP skills? All you're missing is the genderlock and you'd be good to work for BHS.

female only and BHS will give it green light
  • I seems you have so much spare time.
  • People are seriously calling this clutched class op ? Are you kidding ?
How do you think this class would level up ? Can't replace a healer role, can't dps properly (with all the HUGE cd and low base dmg - assuming at lv 65), can't tank (duh). Most of all, their playstyle is pretty much debuffing > afk > wait until burn to spam all cd > back to afk... All those huge cd remind me of FFXIV slow pace snore fest style, macroing everything into 1 button and burn your big burst when needed.
And even the name makes no sense. Necromancer = the art of using spells to manipulate the death. This class is more of a vampire with all the blood manipulating skills, or a wrath with soul/spectral magic.

Not sure if you noticed but every new class has had at least one OP skill.
  • most of the CD's are rather (much) too long. Im not sure it would be easy/fluent enough to gather spectral power, since there are 4 or 5 skills that use 750 or 1500 points, but that is probably something i'd know for sure when i play it.

I think it is kind of lacking as a whole though. This hybrid class build has no real high dmg skills besides the ultimates, which makes it seem more like a bad mystic with subpar healing. The Cursed Resurrection alone would make me kick a necromancer as a healer.
"but it is not designed to be a healer" yet it can heal and revive me, and weaken me by 25%... the effect should be reversed... half the hp but 25% power increase.

but keep going, you're onto something

Anything new is op by default.
  • I actually do like the idea of this class, would of course need some changes and polishing, but it isn't a bad concept.

Agreed. I'd love to see another magic-based class that isn't a support-based one. I've always enjoyed the concept of necromancers, so this would be nice.
  • Yes...this is what I'd want for a magic using castanic/deva. Sorcerer never felt quite right, and I didn't want to be a healer.

Tbh, Sorc feels incredibly clunky and I wish they would have revamped it the way gunner flows; being able to auto attack while moving, a small self-heal, etc.
