Reminiscing and simpler times. Heartwarming / happy stuff!

I have played this game for a long time.
Simple as that, CBT and beyond that; if not 4+ years. And I still enjoy it.
That said I'm just curious about what are your favorite old memories are from the game? <3

1. Blinking with mystic and sorc with the 40% then turned 30% C/D reset on teleport.
2. When you started the game in a whole new area even before Island of Dawn and got a chance to see your character to 20 to see skills sets.
3. When you had to literally party for BAMS because VM1 was almost impossible to enchant and even get to +12.
4. Avatar weapons didn't even exists and weapon drops from dungeons; even lower end ones, mattered.
5. When afk'ing for 3 minutes in Sorcha Bridge was a pastime and you could just chill and talk with friends.
6. The stress test pre- 2 week level 42 cap weekends; and my god the crashes every few hours; but you still logged in later to enjoy it with friends.
7. For the last two years giving away hundreds of charms, campfires, gold, and items to random people all over my server (at one point sending over 312 mails) to randoms all over TR with a friendly little message with the same premise I'm giving here, to know someone cares and that people just want you to have fun too!

These literally were the things that I remember; I've made online friends whom I can be myself with, enjoy my time with, and just be happy.
This game has had its ups and downs; sure, but at the end of the day. It's a game. Something to enjoy and pass the time, really that's all there is to it. I know it's stressful, can make you quit, come back and realize why you hated it in the first place. But before it gets to that point; take a breather. Enjoy the silly things and memories that make the game; just that, a game. And smile and know that their really IS another person on the end of that text who wants to enjoy the game too.
That being said I'll play this game till it hits 6 feet under.
Remember community and Enmasse you are awesome.
Much love,
Lacey

  • I still keep coming back to TERA. Longest hiatus I took was almost a year, but when I came back it was like riding a bike.

The only other game that has reeled me in this much was Phantasy Star Online. I played the [filtered] out of it on gamecube, then played on the Schtack private server until it tanked. My hope is that when the day comes that BHS takes the TERA servers offline for good, that the source code makes its way into the right hands to keep it alive. :3
  • Why I wish we had a legacy server...
  • I miss the constant PvP activity. Though I only got serious about it about 1-2 years ago it was still fun.

I miss duelling in outskirts and wish I'd gotten into the PvP side a lot sooner. My only way forward now is to just sit in queues, watch some anime and wait for them to pop.
  • I miss how the game was harder. How leveling took much longer. You had to join forces with other players in order to do group quests such as BAMs and dungeons. Thry are now soloable (depending on the class). I think it was a lot easier to make friends because you didn't have to queue much.

    I miss Nexus.

I miss Island of Dawn when it was the starting point. The weren't solo quests, so people could team up right at thr beginning. I used to hang out there and help new players when they had questions.

Reading the words Sorcha's Bridge gave me a crazy flashback, made me smile remembering that even though that quest was tediously long and a snooze. I always used it to take screenshots of my new characters.

I definitely miss Nexus the most, even though it was very laggy and sometimes you ran into problems like someone entering traverse too early and then everyone else accidentally teleporting in, or the raid leader not changing the loot before traverse then you got a full raid stuck in there rolling for ages-- I still miss it. It's where I made the most friends while playing Tera, the whole server got to come together and be social for a good reason. Plus, as a healer it gave me confidence when I was new 'cause I was nervous to have a role of importance but eventually it became like second nature! It's silly but getting thanked for something as simple as summoning people just felt nice.

I also miss KNX and KNXX-- 10-man especially 'cause it was something we always did right after nexus like clockwork and it was a decent-ish challenge (at first. then it became cake during the WH patch).

Basically anything that brought people together with a good incentive is what I miss.
  • Even though I solo play fairly often, I have a lot of great memories of this game and Tera is one of the very few MMOs that I've consistently returned to over the years. There are things that I'd like to see make a return, at least in one form or another, and the top of that list is Nexus. Even with the latency issues (and often times the inability to even really tell what you were looking at), it was just a crazy spectacle, and even more fun when coupled with a big GvG.

Also, I found some old beta shots the other day, many of which are of my epicly named archer, Testarcher: http://imgur.com/a/lyisn
