This is great information to have. Now I know not to even bother with ambush, since Guile 2.0 at +12 will be equal to ambush at +15, minus one line. I also know not to bother with Harrowhold, because on top of behemoth being un-liberatable (and therefore having no resell value) it will also be much weaker than ambush 2.0 and much much weaker than behemoth 2.0, one of which can be farmed from fugging timescape and bathysmal rise.

It's hard to put my thoughts into words that aren't ultra offensive right now, but what the [filtered] are you people thinking? I've always rolled my eyes at people who go "this patch will kill tera," but I really do think this upcoming patch will destroy the game. Lunar Dancer is OP as [filtered], there'll be nothing to actually do since TS and BR were farmable ages ago and everyone's sick of them by now. Even the nostalgic crew will tire of it in a week. Like honestly I wonder sometimes how hard it is to just stop the gear treadmill for one [filtered] patch and try something different. Your overworld's full of unexplored land, there are vast regions of just grass, why don't you do something with that? Like, introduce a new city or a new town with level 65 quests or a new class that doesn't completely [filtered] all over everyone else or revamp any of the useless systems you currently have that no one uses because they're trash like crafting or reputation dailies. There's so much going unusued in this [filtered] game, and all BHS does patch after patch is makes more of it useless. I don't think I've ever seen a game kill itself this hard before; it's really like they want people to just play something else at this point, but the MMO genre has pumped out nothing but garbage all year. It's like ktera devs know it at this point, they know there's nothing really better around, so they just don't give a [filtered] anymore. "Oh here, have some more bathysmal rise and Timescape, what're you gonna do, play black desert? It's [filtered], you won't, but please buy some more dragon mount lootboxes."

Also worth noting that this patch repeats history, effectively recreating the disaster we saw early last year. Brawler patch saw an OP class release, a bunch of rehashed dungeons, and a staggered release of a new dungeon that was supposed to relieve our boredom and let us get that final VM mat. It turned into the "march" debacle and everyone I knew quit the game. Fast forward to this patch, what do we have? A new OP class, a bunch of boring dungeons, and a staggered release of a new dungeon with the final VM mat in it. Same exact thing. Maybe a couple of minor differences here and there but you get the point. I don't know, man. I don't know. Or when they said they'd work on class balance, and then they buffed archer through the [filtered] roof, and gave us lunar dancer, a slayer on steroids that does like triple your dps on your best day. I don't know, man. FFXIV looks boring as hell and I told myself I'd never get into that [filtered], so you know it's a bad day in this game when I'm actually seriously eying it and thinking about downloading it even though the combat's garbage compared to this game. I'm ranting at this point so I'll stop but jesus christ just get it together; this game has so much going for it and every patch all they do is make it worse, like how. How is that even possible. It's like a mole from a competing game company works in korea now and he's just trying to kill it and every patch he goes in a dark room and thinks of things he can do to make it even worse and of course he finds a way. Do the Korean players enjoy this? Do they like seeing timescape come back? Do they like seeing their efforts immediately undermined? I can't imagine they do, but they're receiving this stuff as well and apparently the devs actually kind of give a [filtered] about their opinion, so who knows maybe they do.

Anyway, thanks a bunch for translating this info. Your releases are always appreciated, even if the news isn't necessarily good.

For a second I thought I would try and give ambush a shot since it'll take relatively long to land in NA, but now I guess I'll just farm for spellbinds, some etchings and enchanting goods for the VM9 patch.

You just vocalized everything I was thinking. They got a goldmine and possibly the game of the decade on their hands and they have spent 4 years doing all they can to bury it. Oh and FFXIV is excellent if you can deal with tab target again. If it had Tera combat, Tera wouldn't exist brcause no one would play it anymore.
  • No conflate 2.0 or conflate buff rip
  • thats i wont craft vm. im felt ok for buying it
  • Man I feel like you could take the spreadsheets from the last few patch cycles and swap the icons and the names of the dungeons/gear around and literally nobody would realize that's what you did.

I wish they'd at least shake up the progression formula a little bit. Even something as small as having more sets or at least like, change how VM is acquired. Like this stuff feels so pointless considering it's more or less the exact same as this patch, the SS patch, the FI patch and barely different from TS patch.

Possibly the worst content patch ever. The new dungeons need to be mind blowingly good to even begin making up for the joke that is Lunar "screw all over the other DPS" Dancer and the multitude of bad decisions regarding gear stats and dungeon choices, not to mention PvP.
  • So.....when can we expect another expansion? like Fate or Arun ?

Except there won't be enough people this time to reach -1000 downvotes on the post "What's what in 2017!" :c
  • I'm surprised they removed both LK and RM after 6 months, LKHM is quite fun. RM 1st and 2nd boss are terribly boring fillers both in NM in HM, but Lachelith is quite interesting, fast-paced boss battle.

Of course if there's no lags.

I lost hope in Tera and today I decided to sell my current stuff in broker. Like, removing 10 dungeons and replace with one new and 3 old ones. GG, Tera dev.
I cared so much about Tera and it was fun until even my friends in guild stop showing up.

That's what I thought about FFXIV too, and I also thought I'd never be able to get into combat in a MMO again if it wasn't close to Tera's... nothing further from the truth when I actually started playing it. I'd go into detail but I don't wanna turn this post into an advertisement. Suffice to say, the dev team cares about their product and the playerbase a lot more than BHS does for Tera nowadays. And it is a pity. Tera deserves better.
