Definitely is rewarding as lancer to be in that type of situation. Hopefully they thanked in a nice way. And if they didn't then I'm sorry. I been in these types of situations in the past before and sometimes people don't even take the second to recognize or say thank you kinda make me sick to my stomach how hard some of us work to make things easy for people. This is probably why there is also lack of tanks in this game due to one of these reasons (anyway that is from a different thread). Hopefully they take it as a learning lesson to do better but that's how some players are in this game; they just think they can get carried into any dungeon without any research or improvement of their own class, etc.

Yeah for RMNM it's hard for people even when they've read guides apparently. But I feel ya. I read your LKHM post and good lord, that is one dungeon I would never IMS. It's just not fun to tank if your dps don't know what they're doing. I know so many DPS who love that dungeon and so many tanks who hate it because the first two bosses place the bulk of the responsibility on the support. Puddle placement at second boss is just the worst when you get a bunch of melee dps who don't want to stop dpsing for two seconds to do the mechanic. I've had runs where I've tanked so well that the candlespider's not even moved from the center, but thanks to people placing puddles right on top of the boss I've basically spun it in a circle until there's nowhere left to run, and that's frustrating because then I have to try and move it while hoping it doesn't just hop to the other side of the room. Then when I'm trying to move it so the dps can stop attacking in a puddle of [filtered], I see someone pop a brooch and I want to [filtered] scream. I only lfg'd that place once and that was enough.

I IMS tanked RMNM last week on my lancer. It was me (lancer) a sorc, a mystic, a gunner, and an archer. Half our group spoke only Spanish. A bunch of them were first timers. We got to Rachelith; I told them the back mechanic and said I'd type "b" whenever a back slam came up but it didn't help. By 90% the archer was dead on the ground from a back slam. The gunner died from a spin shortly after. The mystic, god bless her, was killed by a spin after that. We were 80% and it was just me and the sorc. We'd already wiped 3 times because those three couldn't stay alive, and at that point I think we were both sick of it so we just duo'd Rachelith together. Must've spent nearly 30 minutes in there slowly and carefully chipping away at her HP while the gunner cheered us on in Spanish. The sorc didn't speak English either, but he knew the fight enough for us to do just fine despite the language barrier. At 3% she started screaming in caps SI SE PUEDE, VAMOOOOOOOOOOS and I almost died laughing.

Was easily one of the most rewarding RM runs I've ever done in my life tbh. I even made a screenshot of the aftermath. 8Shf6Y5.jpg

SI SE PUEDE, VAMOOOOOOOOOOS lmao I died laughing at this, thank you, your artful collage was cherry on top

We've all had some unpleasant experience in LFG/IMS aka PUG. Despite some of the horrible experience in PUGs, they aren't really that bad. I honestly don't understand some people who always uses static parties, gear up quickly and then complain that this game is too easy and it's boring. These are the same people that avoid IMS or even LFG as if they were plague and always stick with close friends/static/guilds. Now, there is nothing wrong with playing with just close friends/Static/Guild. If you are trying to get mats for gear, you will certainly need to run with people you know for reliable runs. But, it does not hurt to go outside your comfort zone and experience the game with less than skilled players and take pleasure in helping them through the run. Not everyone you meet will be pleasant and it's just like the real world, but the good people you meet and get to know will be rewarding and easily outweigh the discomfort of dealing with unpleasant people.

I used to be in a static party. But now, I try to avoid it as much as possible. I do have 2-3 friends I regularly party with, but I mostly utilize LFG or IMS to run Hard Modes (For RMHM, I don't use IMS, but use LFG. For all other Hard Modes, I use IMS/LFG). There are times when IMS parties or even some LFG parties can't clear the dungeon and YES, at times, it can be frustrating, but if we DO clear the dungeon after some wipes or even if we don't clear, I still get some sense of achievement from it - even from just helping the new/unskilled players.

On several occasions, I had the opportunity to pull 1 person out of his usual static and run the same dungeon with a completely new party. What surprises me is that often that person does NOT do really well in the new party and this is especially true for healers. When you always play in the static party, you are used to the same party composition, same playing styles of your party members and the benefits of voice chat system. Because static parties tend to kill the boss fairly quickly, some members do not really experience the mechanics long enough to actually "master" the dungeon. And if they are put in a PuG party all of a sudden, they can't adjust to the new party composition and possibly longer boss fights. Someone even told me that he didn't know certain boss did such and such mechanics because he's never seen the boss do it in his static party. That person simply blamed others for the failure and went back to his static party.

You may learn the dungeon and get better in it by playing with close friends and guild, but you truly master the dungeon by playing with PuGs. Play with unskilled players who die often and can't burn down the boss quickly enough. Wipe over and over until the party eventually clears or simply quit. In the process, you may find some cool tricks or you may find better ways to avoid certain mechanics. At the same time, you have the chance to teach some unskilled players. After that, you go back to your usual static and you'd be surprised just how much easier the run is. You will be much more skilled than people just playing in their comfort zone.

Again, nothing against statics. If you are busy and only have a couple hours to play, then by all means, find good friends and guild for fast and reliable runs. But if you find your static runs boring, then try some pugs once in a while and more importantly, have some patience.

As my Archer is in Guile, I will occasionally pull aggro in the two star dungeons. I've learned to spread out my big attacks if a tank is having trouble holding aggro.

So, I'm in KC, and this tank is losing aggro to everybody, but mostly me. Every time the warrior scythes or I use TB or ROA or even RF we're getting aggro. Spreading out my attacks isn't helping.

Lancer tank, I figure they are new, probably in Idoneal. After chasing the first boss all over the map, to the point that we actually had to do the mechanics to avoid a wipe, I apologize for drawing aggro so often and lament the loss of eclipse potions. You know, just to let them now I am not TRYING to be a jark. It's just happening anyway.

    I get "wrong jewel" "blood".

What? Could he mean crystal? I check to make sure I'm not wearing an aggro crystal somehow. No. Whatever. We're at the second boss. I give up on not drawing aggro and just do whatever I can. I'm already dreading the final boss and expecting a party wipe, but all new tanks need to learn somewhere and I can be patient with the occasional difficult run. It's not like I know how to tank so I can't even give them advice, but I can be patient and take far more time with this than I had intended.

Over the course of the boss fight we continue to exchange short quips until I finally realize, with dawning horror, that the tank has inspected me and determined that my jewelry set is wrong for dps. That my three pieces of shadowvain and two corvette are, in his opinion, the reason I am drawing aggro. He believes i should be wearing blood jewelry because "u dps u blood" He was dead serious that the problem was my jewelry. He was emphatic and pointed to our ninja as a correct example.

By this time the second boss is dead, so I decided to take the quitter stigma and left the party. No way was I going through Thunderous Wrath with this person. Especially since at least one other party member then agreed with him.

"u dps u blood" I didn't even know where to begin to address that.

Uh isn't KC soloable even in entry gear? ._. (Minus the fact you actually have to get 5 people to enter the instance)

When you've had a 30 minute fight with a boss that shouldn't take more than 5 minutes, you'll realise PUGs aren't nearly as much fun for healers as you seem to think. It's absurdly boring as all you can do is press your 2-3 buttons and stare at the boss's hp as it goes down by 2-3% every minute, wishing you could get your dps gear out of the pet without everyone in the party dying because you stopped pressing that 1 button for 5 seconds.

Things that makes me rage in a pug:
    1. Brazilian guild
    2. People telling me how to heal,(even thus I can call myself a godlike myst) they are unexperienced at dungeon (instant kick them fools)
    3. People not following instructions even with /n
    4. Undergeared scrubs who think they can clear a dungeon with that
    5. Outdpsing them as a myst (Insta kick and permaban from future parties)
    6. People who res with neo res instead using the rookie vow or waiting to get ressed (get rekt at last boss)

It is indeed horribly boring as a healer.

Funny thing is, most don't hit the crystals because it would 'slow down the run' since they'd have to stop somewhere for a couple of seconds, ignoring the damage increase.

Oh, that's right, they do do that a lot. When I was levelling up my Brawler, I spent half the gated fights sitting outside with another (not always the healer) because those idiots started without the whole group, so I had to watch as the players got killed almost every time.

I just finished leveling a lancer...seriously the things you encounter queuing dungeons in lower levels. I had to show a Mystic how to use heals, motes, and their resurrection skill after they spent the whole time spamming their basic attack. Everyone was dead except me.

I remember when i was on Priest and they started without me...they all wiped and spammed in chat for me to use the teleportal, so i pretended I was afk.

Reminds me of the time I was on gunner and doing Golden Labyrinth and the mystic didn't heal or cleanse the tank or the other dps during 1st boss and just dropped mana motes only.

On my first time running through that (Slayer) I hit a random crystal each time assuming they did something but not knowing what (Everyone ignored them, so I figured me taking them wasn't a problem). Good to know I was right to hit them, bad to know (after a quick google search) that I had hit the MP one on all but one set.
