Worth doing dailies as a fresh 65 player.

Hello community,

I have just reached lv 65, currently having full sets of slaughter +9( some +6s, no gold to buy mats), current iLvl is 404. For the past 2 days, I have done Echo of Aranea daily, Ace dungeons, and ran some 355 ilvl dungeons. I'm a Lancer.

Also, I'm not confident queueing for harder dungeons, as I don't know how to tank the bosses yet and what the group's expectations are.

As for my questions;
What dailies are worth doing?
Should I do any pvp dailies?
How hard is tanking role in higher dungeons?
Best way to farm gold?

Thank you very much in advance!

how hard or easy mid tier to high tier dungeon tanking is wont really help you right now as we don't have much to go on regarding your level of skill. Like have you looked up glyph guides and skill rotation guides and practiced? Just from what you've said, my advice is to do the beginning 65 quests if you haven't. These are the easy quests that Dougal gives you in highwatch for completing easy dungeons. It will give you feedstock and spellbind to enchant and reroll your gear, plus some rubies for gold and some green inner armor if you don't have any. Beyond that, once you get to item level 410 i think, you can do the next tier of dungeons and start working on guile gear
  • Always do your IOD dailies.
  • Try to enchant at least your weapon to +12.

Google Pve lancer guide on essential mana to see what glyphs you need, run Armory/Catacomb until you got most of the the essential glyphs (you can buy a glyph ticket for lancer from vanguard supply store to check what glyph you can get from those 2 dungeons). Advance glyphs should be left for later since you don't have enough resource for them just yey.

Do Dougal quest chain in Highwatch for enchanting mats and some gold to start.

Since daily vanguard is limited, try to do IoD tier 3 bam (417) > ace dungeon > tier 2 bam (414 ?) after you're done with dungeons, since dungeons would reward more (but take a lot more time). Try to finish all 8 vanguard a day if you have fewer toons.

PvP bg only pop during power hours (mostly), feel free to do them as they gives good reward for 1st win (seachest and fwc chest). Sell them all.

It's hard to comment on your tanking, so just look for some videos of the dungeon you're learning. Priority goes from staying alive > keeping aggro > position boss > keeping up debuff/buff > dsping. You will get better just by practicing and understand boss's pattern, don't try to rush.

  • Ace dungeons are totally worth it for tank, 200 medals = about 500 gold if you get T2 etching and sell it (not to mention actual daily reward). And they take like 4 mins per run.

Then IoD is prob the most profitable as mentioned before, but if you feel bored you can also run some dungeons. Check IM, any dungeon that drop slaughter is balanced for +9 slaughter. Also, if you get some gear pieces you can enchant your gear using them instead of feedstock/alks.

If you are not confident with your skills, practice in Channelworks. It's easy 3-man dungeon that do not require a tank (so you won't screw anyone because ppl are supposed to clear it even without a tank).

Remember to enchant everything to +9 first, then get at least your weapon and gloves to +12 and go guilie.
  • Thank you very much for all of the inputs, that pretty much helped!

I was hesitant to make +12 slaughter, I thought it would be replaced quite soon. I was wrong apparently, so I'll definitely +12 weap and glove, thanks!
