Elite Rewards: Noctenium

So if any of you watched the stream a week or so ago when @Spacecats was talking about getting feedback that people felt like Elite wasn't giving them as much as it used too, there were a ton of comments talking about free noctenium for Elite Players. I felt like this was just kind of a joke and maybe people just kind of brushed it off to the side and ignored it until they forgot about it. But hey, that's actually a genius move.

Just add it into the elite bar buffs and make it like a toggle on / toggle off thing.
~OR~
The Gold Boost that Elite Status boasts is pretty much irrelevant at this point in the game so make replace it with the noctenium so you could have it where "Player's gain the effects of noctenium for an hour" -- you know just like the gold boost gives you increased gold for an hour on one character.

-Giving free noctenium to Elite wouldn't really hurt the economy. While the price of noctenium will probably go down due to Elite Players already having it, Non-Elite Players can still easily acquire it.
-Elite will have an increased appeal as now users can use noctenium without worry of burning through it needlessly.
-Elite remains only as a QoL benefit, staying far away from any P2W notion that other games have.

With that change Noctenium turns from a QoL benefit to a must-have for any dungeon run.

It honestly won't affect me because I stacked loads of noctenium prior to alliance end (probably having 50-60k of reserves across all servers), but lol.
  • Its a pretty much a must have on hard dungeons already. I doubt if you're doing anything mid-tier or below anyone cares.
  • With the new special noct coming out tryhards with elite would still need the real thing to craft those anyway, so economy would probably be fine.

    That's a good idea actually.

And the ingame nocteniums? You can use them to make the stronger noctenium that's coming next patch.

I don't think Elite dictates what a "must have" is. The current benefits of nostrum now were a "must have" even before Elite, and either way, the price would drop meaning it would be too cheap for people who aren't Elite to not even be using. There's also the future change to nocs to take into account anyways.
  • Yes, I totally agree. I think the gold booster is bugged and it doesnt work.

It's not bugged in the "software bug" sense -- it does exactly what it says it will do. But, the game has gradually removed the amount of gold provided from those sources over time so that it's less useful than it used to be.

I actually very much support this idea, considering we are getting some kind of new system where 3? 2 nocts turn into one, basically means we will have even less noct in the future. Remove the gold boost completely ( because lets face it, its only useful during the raids ) and buff that noct up in the elite ( for instance, get like 2k a day from elite bar ). That way, we happy noct users can keep using them and not worry that our reserves are slowly depleting.

Refined Noctenium (aka blue noct) requires 400 noctenium and a converter item that costs 700 vanguard points.

so 700 Vanguard Credit + 400 Noctenium = 1 of these blue noctenium.

This Refined noctenium has about 1.5x of Normal noctenium effect, but unlike Normal noctenium this grants 10 minute buff instead of consuming 1 at a time.

This isn't really worth the costs to create one, but it's still a bit more damage.

EDIT: This was added with Warrior Revamp, which also came with Accessory retool and Circlet (head accessory with stats). Here's the KTERA Patch Note that I've included the info on all of the above.
  • old noct is still usable you just can't use them simultaneously...
the effect is 4% difference from old one with time based effect instead per usage...

is it worth it for the money spent? absolutely not unless you want your e-pn0r to look bigger than the rest...

On NA since vg credits are worth dirt, the more powerful noct is pretty close to viable. Especially for the classes (cough incoming Warrior bandwagon cough) that use them at a fast rate.
  • Would love noc on the bar. QoL that would make me stick with elite, at this rate, Elite is only worth for double dungeon entrys. Sad.
  • Ya why not...

A weekly diferent mount, or at least chage it every month.

Also, let's the elite players have 3 days free customes every week.

Make the gold hunter a permanent perk and not a 1 hour perk.

Can confirm that on triple drop with elite gold booster on duoing all the level 60 dungeons back then gave nearly 200 gold each run in just raw gold, and it was somewhat spammable.

The only reason why our gold doesn't inflate as much as other servers is because 1) bots died, 2) most players didn't even know this was possible and 3) most players only see vanguard badges.
