Crafting Additives

If you craft superior items, such as brooches or etchings, you may have noticed there are multiple additives that game has said are available. One of these are the regular Master's Additive with a supposed +15% (lies!) chance of getting a critical success crafting. There are other's that are supposedly available. They are:
1. Blacksmith's Additive
2. Blacksmith's Secret Additive
3. Master Crafter's Additive
4. Master Crafter's Secret Additve.
These four additional additive's description is something along the lines of "use this for 100% chance of critical success during crafting". 100% success is op af. It's essentially a Noble Additive for Tier 3 (or Tier 4 if they ever decide to add those in one day) and Quaterfoil Brooches.
My question is where in the game do you get these? I lurked around the TERA store and even asked the raids that clear Harrowhold and nobody has seen them. I don't know if it's intentional or a bug or if just has a near non-existent drop rate.
Anyways, thanks for reading. Comment below if you know the secrets of TERA.

  • It's probably a placeholder until they become available in-game. Kinda like the innerwear slot before they were introduced
  • They exist on other Tera versions. I know Tera EU got the 100% crit chance additive.

Idk why we don't have it?
  • these additives will make brooches and perhaps etching 3 more accessible to people... because it will drive the prices down... other than that they are useless since you got nothing else to craft...
i didn't log to my eu for ages but the last time i checked these additives sell for 15k or something a pop...

its likely to become more expensive if it ever gets implemented here cause you know brooches are still selling for a couple of hundred thousands...

They are available on EU Tera, but NA Tera, no we gotta get rekt anally by RNG for everything. Even for a simple pantsu

Hey, thanks for bringing this up ShadowOfLight. I'll talk to the TERA team about it, but I could use a little more info or maybe some screenshots that illustrate where you see the list of additives. As you put it - "you may have noticed there are multiple additives that game has said are available" but where exactly does the game say that?

The items do exist in our version, by the way. Here's a shot of one on our test server. I'll dig to find out what the intentions are for these additives in our region.

    ALSO...

Master's Additive with a supposed +15% (lies!) chance of getting a critical success crafting

What makes you think that's a lie?
  • One of these are the regular Master's Additive with a supposed +15% (lies!) chance of getting a critical success crafting.
Master's additive is 25% chance while artisan is 15%. The additional chance is multiplicative to the base success chance. So if the base success chance is 20%, then the 25% master's additive would give an additional +5% success chance.
  • Why is this even an issue? You are level 65 and complaining about 'End Game crafting?

There's not many reason to really craft in this game, so it should be no surprise if anyone that hasn't been playing long wouldn't know much about the system. You only level it out for achievements, or if you want to make a brooch yourself rather than buy it, or if you really like rng etching.

I would understand it from a casual player but not from an EME Staff.

Etching is now only crafting skill and very RNG. To make master etchings you need a recipe. Idk, where one can get recipe and in broker recipes that matter cost a lot of gold. To even make etching III you need a lot of resources. Titan's ember is a rare thing. You can get one ember by doing FC bg, Ace Dungeon credits or that Solo Dungeon (sorry forget the name). And to make 'snowflake' you need to make etching I and hope for crit.
  • @Spacecats Can I have some of that? I need them for.... purposes.

I'll mail you candy if you do. Pinky Promise.

I have done some crafting but since I'm not familiar with these secret additives, a screenshot would help.
